Why do you think people today have become so sensitive?

I always attributed this to the human condition. We always want more and we will never be content as a species if we do not "evolve". I use the term lightly because we don't evolve out of necessity and survival anymore, but rather out of comfort and quality of life. Even if we had a perfect world, with no crime and freedom for everyone, someone would still find something to complain about. It's how we are, I think. People always want to have a voice. We may think we have evolved beyond simply thinking about oneself but the reality is that 99% of all humans can only see inwards, expressing their own desires. When someone threatens that, they get aggressive.

That's just how culture works. I don't think it's concentrated around any age group. It's old and young people alike that are sensitive to issues. Roll back a few years and most people were hypersensitive about LGBT groups, but gradually most people have opened up to it.

The internet has helped perpetuate a lot of sensitivity. Just try saying fag to someone in person, and then say fag on the internet. We're in a world where it's safer to say words in people's face with less probability of repercussion and retaliation than to use the same word online.

You can get aggravated easily and become sensitive if you are hungry I suggest eating some gas station hot dogs so you feel better.

It's a stronger trend than ever to passive-aggressively tear people down and manipulate them, as opposed to, let's say, punching or even ignoring someone. It's a blend of being spoiled, on top of PC bullshit that used to be regulated to political and noble positions. It's now expected for common citizens to act more like bureaucrats than every day people, which is flabbergasting. Naturally, people often rely upon group ostracization and peer pressure to forcibly get what they want. That's a given, as that is normal for humans and many other animals. It's somewhat magnified by modern culture, though. It's vicious and deceptive. It speaks of a society where the government is overreaching, on top of other people abusing their power.

Because empathy which is hard wired into humanity has had an opportunity to spread....but like with anything else taken too far it can be a bad thing plus some use others sensitivity for their own gain. I have a feeling that all the over-sensitive crybabies are not really that sensitive at all. If they were they would be more in tune with other people's feelings but it seems like the only thing they're in tune with is what they want. That's not empathy. It's more likely they're using this growing awareness for their own ends. That's just my two cents.

That is how it should be. I hope you are still very particular about who you respect. Respect is something that is hard earned and not handed to you like a T-ball trophy just for showing up. Although there's nothing wrong with handing out T-ball trophies mind you. At that age learning to try your best and how to use teamwork are way more important than winning so a trophy is relevant in that situation.

No, I was pretending to be an old man that grew up with the view that anyone younger than them were of a lesser rank.

Just watch how fast all the political correctness gets stripped from a group of people who get caught in the middle of a natural disaster. People seem to have a sudden epiphany about what's important when no help is available and probably won't be for several days and you have to deal with broken bones or other medical emergencies, a lack of clean water sources, and potentially no roof over your head, no electricity and communications broken or only intermittently available.

Seems to be how kids are being rasied now and it seems to be being drilled into us that we are all victims and that everything is offensive and that offending someone is the worst thing in the world even if what you're saying is true or the opinion that you are entitled to.
I blame the left wing do gooders, the SJW's, the femnazis, the political correctness, white guilt, females having a s say in politics (lol), etc
We are being taught that everything is offensive. Even being proud of who we are and our way of life (well, if you are white that is).
I blame the education system and the media. Victim mentality is at an all time high.

There's such a thing? lol

The mentality if something offends me it shouldn't be allowed even if it breaks no laws or harms anyone.

Crap like change.org is a fine example of this.
