The new login form appears to prevent you logging in with a password of length longer than 30 or so. For a while now, I've had a password that exceeds this length, and I didn't know that CR's new policy was to have a password with such a maximum length. I wouldn't mind so much if I could just reset the password, but unfortunately, my email for that account is also dead, and it's on a host for which I cannot easily get another one.

I've had to use a secondary account to post this message. Sorry it's so public, but I'm not really sure where else to post questions like this.

Could an admin or someone PM me to help me out with this situation? I basically just need to login somehow and reset my password from there. I can actually provide the username/email/password, just that with the current form and that email in its current situation, I won't be able to login or reset my password as it is without help from an admin.

A password manager would be one answer.

That said, remembering a long but non-random password isn't that difficult. The problem is when one has to remember several of those. Think of the difference between having to memorize one quote vs. a list of them, and who each one is attributed to.

My master LastPass password is even longer, but not completely random. Fortunately, I only have to remember it, not the passwords for the various sites stored within my password vault.

EDIT: Okay, everything is fine. My email host has been surprisingly quick, and have reinstated my email address for me already, so I've managed to reset the password on the account now.

I'd delete the thread or edit the original post, but there doesn't seem to be an option for that, so I'll leave this reply here instead.
