I don't believe in luck, I believe in hard work, but sometimes I feel I can never surpass a genius. For one I do not have the patience and while being careless I always miss out on the small steps. I'm a programmer, but in terms of programming speed I can never beat this Chinese guy, who writes it from sketch. I am a learner who learns from seeing people do the actual work, but reading a manual seems to take a while for me. I admire people who can read manual and seems to know what to do. Well I see them as competitors, probably hypocritical of me. Well, let me know what you think, personally I think genius is unbeatable

Btw, personally I think luck runs out

That's just how the world works.

If you're not a genius, and you're not lucky, then hard work is your best bet.

Luck might be winning the lottery or meeting the perfect someone, you could call it random chance.

And most of us aren't geniuses. So, hard work is more reliable.

I am a genius at being creative, but it needs hard work to boot. Luck does work because you only need to win the lottery once hmm, but it is not something you can rely on

Unfortunately, that's just reality. Some people are smarter and to get to their level requires a ton of hard work. The worst part? No matter how much hard work you put in, you will never reach the level of some people. That's just one of the hard facts of life. Fortunately, everybody has the capacity to be successful through varying degrees of effort.

I think that it helps to have a little bit of all of them. For example, there are scientific discoveries that have been found through luck, and then hard work and their intelligence has helped push their understanding of that lucky discovery forward. All three have their own perks, but I feel hard work is the only one that pretty much anyone can realistically achieve, followed by genius which may eventually stem from hard work, and then luck which really either happens or it doesn't.

Intelligence is more to do with appetite and less to do with aptitude (only partially so).

It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer. - Einstein

Passion and perpetual curiosity is where intelligence can be found.

I believe there is no luck. Everything happens for a reason. Even in a game that "random" rare drop you get is actually seeded on a clock.

Talent alone won't get you very far either, hard work will carry you to the highest levels. I managed to push myself to an NFL level of mobility and power, but lost it not due to luck but due to my own careless mistakes.

Going through school I was always a top 5% kind of student when it came to testing. Halfway through I ended up bored with it all and continued to test well but never graded well in classes (got B and C grades) since I would do pretty much no homework or any other tedious tasks. I have an extremely high potential for intelligence but no passion for it. Hard work makes all the difference between good and elite.

Whenever I can I will resolve to create my own "luck" and stack the odds in my favor.
