Put. US. Canada. Only. In. Title.

It is not difficult to put useful flags in article/topic titles. So please do so.

No company owes you anything, they can all just pull out all their content and leave you with nothing.

Well the ones who I am paying for a service do, if you think otherwise then you really don't know how goods and services work.

Sorry its such a freaking inconvenience for a lazy person to have to do anything.

This has nothing to do with laziness and everything to do with Crunchyroll's inability to do stuff every other major streaming platform does. As a FuniNow UK member, we don't see NA-only announcements n their UK social media and site, they don't email us about them, we're not getting banner ads at the top of the site about them, they're not putting them on their goddamn homepage. And the same is true of both Netflix and Viewster.

Yet, Crunchyroll do all of these things. Crunchyroll would piss people off a lot less, if they just acted like every other streaming platform on the planet. Maybe Americans don't realise this, but other countries do exist)...

I'm sorry, but emailing your entire mailing list specifically about a much loved and requested title (specifically One Piece), which is excluded from an entire freaking continent, is so hugely obnoxious, they wiped out any sympathy I had for them over the matter...

My understanding is Funimation UK is a completely separate site from the one here in North America, including the forums. While the latter certainly has advantages when it comes to series not available in the UK, it also has some obvious disadvantages. (Think of how CR would be if it had separate forums for each region or country).

My point is that it is zero effort for Funimation to not "contaminate" the UK side with anything US/Canada specific, because with their setup would actually require an effort to do so. Their users pay for that with segregation.

Question: Do you see the announcement for these 3 catalog titles in the News section of the site? My understanding is that section has some type of region filtering, although I am not certain if it is truly by region or only by language. (If the latter, you would still see them).

It is, but that's the point. Funimation went to great effort not to piss their UK customers off, why can't Crunchyroll (the bigger company) do both? We don' really "pay" for it with segregation, we can still view their US feeds if we want to, we just can't access the forums -- but we don't need to, because they don't put news up on there.

Yes, they do appear on the "News" section of the site.

"New Catalog Titles"

Not this nonsense again. Will we again be flooded with heavy restricted catalog additions soon?
Please at least mark them as USA and Canada only in the title!

Every single description on each show tells you what countries they are available in. If you need it indicated to you in the title of the forum post because you are so lazy that you can't scroll down to read it yourself, you're too entitled to live in the real world.

Not to mention, there may be additional titles added over time (just like Lost Universe was added today). Potentially, other series may have rights that extend outside of US/Canada, so having that in the forum title would be misleading.

TL;DR: Stop acting lazy and entitled.

By now I think we can assume "New Catalog Titles" (almost always) = US and Canada only.

We pay them, and in fact I pay for my subscription than you Americans do. It is not "entitled" to expect advance warning not to get excited at an announcement. No other major streaming platform displays and promotes announcements about titles not available in your region. It is not "entitled" to expect Crunchyroll to behave in the same way every other major streaming platform (and the majority of smaller streaming platforms) do.

In the past, Crunchyroll used to put the region info at the bottom of the post, after the paragraph designed to make the show sound amazing. This led to lots of people getting hyped for shows only to then discover they couldn't watch them. So now lots of people don't want to risk it, and I can't say I blame them.

Also, I'm fed up of obnoxious Americans acting like they deserve better service than the rest of us. I hope Crunchyroll's constant pandering to you guys and only you guys bites them on the arse..

US and Canada , US and Canada. US and Canada. How much does it cost to bid for the outside world?

I'm don't know I would classify it as a "great effort", since it allowed them to use the UK site as a beta test for the same software they'll soon deploy for their site here.

You seemed to have missed my point about the forum segregation. Do you believe everyone only uses the forums for reading news? How popular do you think the forums here on CR would be if they were balkanized per licensing block?

The approach Funimation used would be unworkable for CR. Funimation has two licensing blocks to deal with. CR has possibly more than one can count on your fingers and toes.
