OMG Nodame Cantabile?? That's one of my favorite jdrama! ohh I hope you add the manga at some point!

And anyone know what's the current fate of the anime (with the not-too-shabby Animax English dub)?

It was last seen trapped at Crackle, owing to snarled-up rights that wouldn't allow Sony to release it on disk, and now...it isn't there anymore.
Have the rights finally fallen through/liberated?

And am I the only person happy about the original, non-desperate subbed Kyatto Ninden Teyandee, in its pure, unsullied pristine form, with accurate translations and no corny Paul Lynde imitations?

Hopefully they get the rights to the anime too, i've only seen it on a few websites but the quality isn't that great. Maybe the reason it's not on crackle anymore is bc it's gonna be on CR? lol

I know all this. I just don't see why I should care. As paying customers, it's Crunchyroll's responsibility to work out logistics, not ours to make allowances.

Indeed, many of us will make allowance, but at some point you have say "enough is enough" and Crunchyroll crossed that point long ago. It's now reached the point where people are willing to settle for just advance warning that titles are US/CA, which should tell you low Crunchyroll has set the bar for itself...

Wrong. It's Crunchyroll's responsibility to run their business in a way that maximizes profits. They don't owe you a thing. It's your responsibility to decide whether the service you receive from them merits the money you pay them. Welcome to capitalism. For my part, I'm glad they include Canada when they license stuff for the US. Too bad Netflix doesn't do the same (but again, my responsibility to decide whether Netflix Canada is worth my money, not theirs to cater to me.).

I've had Ah My Buddha on my to-watch list for years, so this should be good times. Sketchbook Full Color's is one I have seen, and would recommend it to any Aria fans (the slice-of-life series', not the Scarlet Ammo).

Don't let the childish designs and insanely saccharine opening scenes fool you; Ringing Bell has teeth. Brilliant movie with a haunting ending.

Seriously how about getting some decent shows from the CURRENT season instead?

These aren't available on CR and I'm disappointed as a paid member:

Macross Delta
Kabaneri
Netoge

First one maybe.
The second one is not happening. Amazon has sunk their teeth into it.
Nope, I believe since Funimation has it.

The amount of US and Canada shows seem rather Tsundere to the rest of the world. In a bad way, I may add.

Thanks to Harmony Gold, no one will be seeing a legal stream of any modern Macross series. If you want to know why, here's one take on it:
http://kotaku.com/5990702/why-you-havent-seen-any-new-macross-in-the-west-for-nearly-15-years

As already mentioned, the other two series are licensed by other companies. It is unrealistic in a competitive market to expect any single company to have every title. Amazon has an agreement going forward for noitaminA titles (beginning with Kabaneri), and if reports are to believed, they paid a pretty penny for those series.

Yay, new JDrama And it's a famous one And it's not US and Canada only! (CR seem better at getting more regions for JDrama catalogue titles than anime ones.) (and now they don't have to label the thread US and Canada only )

I can't help to think that they added this JDrama in this thread diliberately instead of making a serperate thread for solely JDrame just to muzzle the people who were asking for a US/CA addition in the title. Meanwhile, they are ignoring us and just keep adding more restricted titles like nothing ever happened.

I'm not a fan of JDrama, but I'm certain some people will be happy. :)

You guys really need to start filtering your pieces. Really, if it is only available in the US and Canada, it should not be content shown on the UK homepage, because we click it, then realise: "Oh, it's another one that only the US can watch". Simply filtering announcements based on location would eliminate this. I wouldn't mind the US and Canada exclusives if they weren't being shoved in my face every time I go to the homepage and click on something.

I was operating under the assumption that pleasing customers would maximise profits. However, obviously that's not always the case.

I don't begrudge Americans for getting this content. However, I do have a problem with the degree of assholery a lot of them put out, when Europeans ask for equal consideration...
