So, currently im sick and want to be EXTREMELY lazy so that I can get better faster because I hate being sick. Ever since the last time I was ill (which was an annoyingly short time ago) I've been trying to find something to watch for situations like these. I have some US TV shows that fit the bill, but all the animes I have seen or have lined up are all hilarious no matter how many times I watch them, or make me cry no matter how many times I watch them.

So what Im looking for is just a nice (for lack of a better work) chill anime that I could just watch with a smile on my face and relax. Something not too funny, or too dramatic. I know it sounds like im asking for bottom of the barrel crap but I know I've seen good relaxing animes, I just dont remember them >.>

I'd suggest moyashimon as well for full ep type. Also Seki-kun - it's simple, cute, quick to put a smile on. May be a bit too funny, but it never fails to put a smile on my face, and it's easy to fall asleep to and continue watching at any point.

Hmm, Non non Biyori, You and Me, and Moyashimon seem like good choices, the rest are you sure? I read the Synopsis and they all sound like they lead up to something really dramatic. Also, I've seen Silver Spoon and while it sounds chill, its one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Normally thats good, but if I tried watching something like that now I'd laugh until my laughs turned into uncontrolled coughing >.>

With regard to Silver Spoon I guess that's a your mileage may vary thing. I found it smile-amusing with small amounts of drama but not laugh-inducing comedy or tear-jerking drama (especially in the first season).

But Non Non Biyori and You and Me are quite different from Silver Spoon, and rather similar to each other in tone. They are very slice-of-lifey with no story. The characters are cute and likeable in a normal way, though Renge (in Non Non Biyori) is so freaking adorable in her actions that you might have some lol moments there.)

Oh ya, I completly forgot about Flying Witch, I queued it and totally forgot about it :P
And sorry, but how did you not find Silver Spoon laugh inducing? I fell out of my chair in the first ep with the... "chicken-as-reward" scene

On CR:

Usagi Drop: Hyper-cute girl adopted by distant relative. Focuses on their daily life. Awesome show because it is neither a "mr. mom" slapstick, nor do they dwell on the drama or tragedy of her situation.

Hanasaku Iroha: Tokyo girl sent by her good-for-nothing single mother to live with her strict grandmother who runs a traditional inn in a rural town--only when she gets there, she finds that she is expected to work to eat. A bit of romance in this one, but mostly it's about the people at the inn.

Snow White with Red Hair : One of the best two romances of the last several years (along with My Love Story). Straight-up romance in a fantasy-type setting, but with very good characters and just enough plot to keep you coming back for more.

Not on CR:

Barakamon: Pampered young artist (calligrapher, to be specific), exiles himself to a remote island village to after he punches a museum gallery curator. Funny at times, but in a smile/chuckle sort of way more than a side-splitting sort of way. Hulu.

Kimikiss: Pure Rouge: This is 24 episodes of straight-up vanilla romance. Fun and likable without ever being funny, dramatic but it still seems to kind of remember that high school first loves aren't the end of the world at the end of the day. Hulu.

Aishiteruze Baby : Kindergartener taken in by her aunt's family, who decide that their playboy high school son (the little kid's cousin) should have primary responsibility for raising her. Some drama, but it's always toned down, a bit of romance (once the playboy settles down), and mostly a cute kid acting cute. Free and legal on YouTube.

Hmmm,
I honestly have to go with Lorreen on all three choices (Silver Spoon never really made me laugh hilariously). Now, Mayo Chiki, Nisekoi and MM! made me lmao. So back to the subject at hand sorry for straying.

I don't know why but it just grew on me. From the beginning I saw it as hit or miss and for me it definitely hit in the end. It was one of those feels trains running off the track shades of When Marnie was There or Plastic Memories for me. Noel is one of my favorite moe characters right up there with Renge-chan (Non Non Biyori), Naru (Barakamon) and Erio (Ground Control to Psycho-electric Girl).

Noel was pretty much the reason for watching Sora no Method - she's adorable. :p

the drama was quite forced, which is likely the reason not many enjoyed it. the source of drama was trivial as well, and could be solved if they just talked. by the way, it was done by a start up animation company, and for a start-up, they did a fantastic job with the animation.

Nisekoi is quite the ecchi series and have several moments where you'll wish your sibling/etc don't come into your room while watching it.
the encouragement to climb was nice, and based on actual trails in Japan.
