Lots shounen re long then some re short,
Bleach, naruto, and guilty pleasure One piece ' re the one that got
lots story, and hits for their surprise characters..
Then theres Akame ga kill, terraformars, Magi ye can say that have ending.
this genre rule for me, for the mass of storytelling n characters that it have,
one long that rule em all is One Piece, cause of the manny saga that it have,
and those silly n falmboyant characters, really the tone is not so serious = LOTS FUN
then for short got go with magi(i know it have 2nd season, divide by 25 each)
As before the character and story sell it.
But in all honesty, i go with the short''s why?
I think it got deph, on how to tell just a small story, for just 25 to 50 episodes.
in all honesty i like it when it got a finally, old fashion i guess.
SO HOW BOUT YOU? ye like yer shounen short or long?

And like always thank for been awesome.

In regards to Fairy tail, One piece and the lot i like them short. Personally i think FMA Brotherhood is the best shounen out there right now. But anything over 100 episodes i shy away from, just the time commitment is too much, plus i like a satisfying conclusion to the shows i watch.

If they actually use all of those episodes (and characters) to their fullest potential then I'm fine with them being long. Like Fairy Tail and Magi do. ( I don't consider anything around 50 episodes short. ) They both give time to develop already good and unique characters further including the supporting ones.

But if they're going to be like the big 3, DBZ, HunterxHunter, etc. where only a select few characters get development or even focus then I'd much rather it be shorter. Especially if those few characters who do get development is poorly done. *cough* Sasuke and Killua *cough* like the first Fate/stay night a lot for this reason. Only a couple of characters get substantial development (mainly Shirou, Saber, and Illya.) And so it only needs 24 episodes.

I prefer longer shows, as long as it's done tastefully (aka no filler/arcs that go nowhere/fluff). I like seeing how all the characters change and grow over an extended period of time, and short series have a harder time with that.

I don't love boys no matter how long or short they are.

As for anime, I don't care as long as it's written well or has enough fun characters. For me, Naruto fails the criteria for both. FMA, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, DBZ, and maybe some others (Hunter x Hunter looks like a show I could enjoy but I don't have time) have at least one of those two things.

once a show hits triple digit episodes, it's a sign that things need to end.

At least 60 episodes would be good. 148 would probably be the sweet spot.

Just started Gintama a few days ago and going at an one episode/day rate. Been awhile since I tackled one of these. I'm curious if I can finish it. Previously watched 600+ episodes of One Piece before stopping. Though that seems crazy when I think back on it.

Not true.
In the case of One Piece and Naruto yes.

Even thoughYu Yu Hakuhso hit a amazing sweet spot before 100 episode and then went to crap afterwards in the last arc.

I literally don't even plan to start naruto or one peice. I perfer them to be longer than 20 episodes but not so long that i get bored.

Doesn't matter short or long, as long as the story is good
