I'm so shy, it's hard for me to have convos with people especially online. If i do manage a convo one day i don't think i would lie to them, i'm not ashamed of my hikikomori lifestyle. As long as they don't get creepy it's all good.

Generally no, but I don't really even talk to actual strangers about anything worth lying about. On the internet I wouldn't be too shy about sharing some stuff with people I know at least on some level.

define 'lie'? i'm pretty open about who i am, but there are things i don't bring up unless asked and even then it depends on the situation if i tell the truth.

No point in lying to someone who doesn't even know you to begin with - unless you just want to mess with them. However, I don't normally give unknowns enough details that they could track me down in real life if they turn out to be a creep.

Save for politeness or the kind sentiment I don't really talk to strangers, but if its someone I trust no.

I don't lie persay...

I have been known to play a 'character', however, if I know I'll never see them again.
Is it really lying if the truth of the role shines through?

Life is too short to just be one person.

Typically no. I hate lying in general because I'm too lazy to remember the lie. People who weave intricate webs of lies have fantastic memories. Its not very difficult to remember the truth! Also If that stranger becomes a friend, you end up lying to them for the duration of that friendship or risk telling the truth and the trust being broken. Plus, you should be the only one who can measure your success so I have no reason to lie to people about my accomplishments. On the other hand, I do skimp on the details until I get to know someone better.

I've lied about my gender before. Also, I lied to people about myself on the internet all the time. I skip over and be abrupt with details in person.

Can't trust these hoes. I'M AN ACTOR.

No, I don't lie. To lie is to falsify information. Everything I say and do is true, but I will omit or emphasize certain parts to keep up the image of me people have/want/need. I think everyone does that to an extent. We all put on a face. Or a mask, if I am to keep true to my internet persona.

I lie to people who seem like they might want to get into a long conversation if I say a certain thing. For example, if a religious person is asking me if I believe in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while holding pamphlets, I say yes and walk away as fast as possible.
