What do you think about this question? Would getting rid of stupid people change anything? How do you feel about natural selection? What is your ideals on stupidity?

Enjoy!!!

"stupid" Defined as lacking intelligence or common sense.

I think you can have a high IQ and still be stupid. There is a lot in your own personal POV that makes a person smart or stupid to you.

"It seems like we just keep forgetting about the big headlines. Like, remember when the earth blew up? C'mon!...And how we all escaped to this planet on the giant space-ark? And then the government announced that we shouldn't tell the stupider people, because then they might.........Ah. Okay. "

There'd be no one left. It'd be a maelstrom of people killed for various kinds of "idiocy," including the stupidity of trying to wipe out foolishness. Ouroboros. Humanity wouldn't be "smarter"-- It'd just be humanity trying to hide its faults and failing miserably.

The problem is stupid is to objective to kill people on. If they simply became smarter by whoever was doing the judging then yes. Killing all the stupid people by any standard will not do anything. On natural selection if all the smart people only bred with other smart people I would guess that yes their children on average would be smarter. However, I do believe that smart people tend to go after other smart people so I assume most bright people will end up with another bright person as their spouse.

People are already getting smarter through the Flynn effect, what's the hurry? If you compare the average person today to an average person a century ago, the century-past person would be on the verge of mental retardation compared to us.

Besides, we already have robots who can beat masters of Go without brute force computation. Machines are going to get smarter and figure out a non-evil way to make us brighter for us.

There's also the problem of how to determine whether someone is bonafide stupid. "Intelligence as a whole is so vast and complex that attempts to measure it are useless" -Marilyn Vos Savant. As a bit of background information for her, she understands IQ very well, being a columnist, heavy participant in IQ societies, and has an IQ of 186 herself. You're limited to measuring facets of intelligence if anything.

People who maybe dropped out of grade school and have an IQ of say, 80, are still typically much better at coming up with escape plans for jet combat, making plans for outsmarting the cops, and etc. compared to their higher IQ counterparts. People with high IQ were not necessarily good at those things. You find that high IQ people typically wind up on the fringes of society. This is paraphrasing professor Michio Kaku, one of the leading faces of science. Then there's also the types of people who have really low IQ like savants who are really good at math and music/arts. If you cut down all people below a certain IQ, maybe the average IQ increases but you're gong to lose intelligence elsewhere and a lot of variety in general. The total brainpower humanity wields isn't going to increase just from doing that either, even if the average goes up. You're still losing brainpower and like-minded thinkers who can get together and do great things if you cut out people just for being below average.
