but then all the crunchyroll threads asking stupid questions would dissappear.

i guess thats a good thing.

but to answer the question: no, because stupidity is not something inherited,; it's learned, some would still have a terrible educational system
, a buch of people with High IQ but low EQ, and a new generation of emotional baggage that has to learn from said system that teaches you to just do what everyone else does and not question anything. i would say that it would just make us stupider and we would not have learned anything.

this is some Yagami Light level bullshit!

I'm relatively intelligent and I'm a grunt worker. Even went to university for a while. A persons occupation often has little to do with how smart they are.

No, I don't think that humanity would become smarter as a whole if the "stupid people" were killed off. Intelligence is difficult to define anyways. Is someone who excels at math but struggles to learn a new language stupid? Or what about someone who can't wrap their head around chemistry but can memorize long speeches or songs with ease? Or what about the person who isn't particularly good at anything naturally but puts in enough effort to rise to the top? I believe all people who do not have some sort of disorder or severe brain damage are pretty close in terms of intelligence, it's just a matter of finding where they fit best. Killing off people who don't fit your idea of 'smart' would probably just make the species weaker as a whole.

A better question (in my opinion) would be: If the jerks were killed off would humanity become nicer?

How much of rude behavior is learned? What about racism, or homophobia or other forms of bigotry? Are they purely cultural or part some sort of natural human instinct to shun those who are different? What about altruistic behavior? I don't want to derail this thread, so I'm gonna start a new one.

Intelligence wouldn't be as valued in a world only of smart people. People who are now above average intelligence would be the idiots of the new world, why would I want that?

True, I worked min wage jobs for years until I finally landed my first office/white collar job last year. That being said, moving up would be much, much more difficult. One of the only reasons it was tolerable was that I was able to hold onto the dream of a better live. In a world where you get relegated to the bottom of the intelligence scale your prospects for career advancement would be bleak.

No. Since it doesn't work like that. Smart people will continue to produce dumb people. Dumb people can produce smart people.

There'd be no one left. It'd be a maelstrom of people killed for various kinds of "idiocy," including the stupidity of trying to wipe out foolishness. Ouroboros. Humanity wouldn't be "smarter"-- It'd just be humanity trying to hide its faults and failing miserably.

I do wonder about that though: why does it seem that smart people have more smart children or does it have more to do with starting out with a better education, nutrition, environment, etc.

I have yet to meet an engineer, doctor or lawyer who doesn't have parents I'd consider intelligent, just saying.

Genetics, genes.

Just like if song writters or musicians have children, Most of the children I see have musical talents of their own, it all depends on how people live their lives, what they were exceptionally good at, all these things will be passed down when they decide to have children one day, the only benefit of this is that the bloodline will continue to prosper and evolve into even greater individuals who can offer their knowledge for even greater achievements.

or you can pass down the genetics and genes of a drug addict, and create more drug addicts, or people who are just born to be stupid because the parents themselves have achieved absolutely nothing with their life, so they would rather bring more of those people into the world for reasons unknown. Something like that, but there are rare cases where some children go on to be great achievers.

That what I've been doing for last 2,000 years! Trying to wipe out Barbarians since they're inferior people! They even eat their own people! That why I wanted to take over the world, to make one powerful nation that is Roman Empire!

IF you killed off all the stupid people...then there wouldn't be a humanity LEFT. EVERYONE does something stupid sooner or later. And some "smart" people have their heads up their [censored] too much to realize when THEY do stupid things.
