Normal sickness was walking pneumonia. I thought I was going to die lol.

But the WORST sickness I've ever had to deal with was opiate withdrawal. I can't even begin to describe the living hell that was. It lasted SOOOO long and seemed to get worse each and every second of the day. The physical part is bad enough but you throw the worst mental depression you can imagine along with the worst flu you can imagine and then multiply that by a billion and that's about what it feels like. It's like there is NO color, no joy, no breath, nothing but pure misery and the two combined are just horrible. I really would not wish that on even my worst enemy. I always hate watching heroin addicts get arrested on cops because I know what they're about to go through. It's pretty much how I imagine Hell would be like if I believed in a Hell. It would be the absence of all things that make life good. Just pure utter despair.

So glad I was one of the lucky one's and managed to get clean. That was such a long time ago and it feels good to say that. At the time I thought it would never end and I would never feel anything good again. Just say NO kids. Seriously. I don't care about pot but stay away from the bigger one's. Painkillers or heroin. It doesn't matter and the effects are EXACTLY the same, so is the withdrawal.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope that soon or at least one day this disease whatever it is will be more manageable for you and that you won't have to keep missing so much school. Medical science is improving each and every day so I hope they either find a cure or will find a better way for you to manage your condition. I absolutely hate reading or hearing about young people who are sick or have diseases. It always bothers me more than reading about adults who are sick. Maybe because we've already got to experience so much in life while you'll are just getting started. Regardless, I'll keep you in my thoughts and I hope things get better for you and that you will get to feeling better.

Throat infection. Could not drink or eat almost anything as it was so painful to swallow (that's what she said)

My story is not quite as bad as some of the other posters, but very painful and frustrating nonetheless. I had a molar which was bothering me, I complained and went to the dentist who did x-rays and said nothing was wrong. In the meantime, I was having recurring sinus infections - the doctor would put me on antibiotics it'd go away for a few days and then start up again. Eventually the doctor said if we don't get these infections to stop we're going to have to do surgery (basically roto-root my sinuses out). I'd finally had it with the pain in my tooth as well as having basically non-stop sinus infections for about a year and a half, so I made my mother take me to a different dentist for a second opinion. Turned out, the tooth was infected - it needed a full root canal. One of the roots actually reached into my sinus - this meant that I'd take the antibiotics for the sinus infection and the infection would retreat into the tooth which acted like a shelter to the infection. As soon as the antibiotic was out of my system, the infection would leak out of the tooth and re-infect my sinuses. So finally after getting the root canal done, the sinus infections cleared up and I didn't have to have the surgery on my sinuses.

You're admirable. Makes my problems seem insignificant by comparison. I also like your posts.

I was in bed for 3 days, couldn't even stand up and my mom needed to feed me. (yeah, I didn't shower in those 3 days, too weak and also too embarrassed to be washed by my mom)

I still don't know what I had but after 3 days I was able to stand up but I still felt weak. X_x

I'm glad that that's the worst I've been.

The worst sickness I've ever had was appendicitis. It actually wasn't so bad for me. I mean it was bad enough that I asked to be taken to the hospital but the recovery hurt more than the appendicitis.

Mentally? right now!

I would tell him to go on a cancer diet but he might just say it's hocus-pocus

the worst sickness i had was a probably a major fever or something, i honestly don't know. i have no idea what the hell happen or how the hell i got it. i remember i had to go use the bathroom so bad so i summon every strength i had to literally crawl out of bed on four while going in and out of conciseness to get there. thank god the bathroom was right across my room. once i got there i reach up to turn on the light but i think i pass out on the floor before i could turn it on. all i remember was thinking to myself, "omg, this feels soo nice and cold." then i regain conciseness and somehow felt a bit better but it was dark and i had no idea where i was. i started feeling around and manage to turn the lights on, looked down and i went while i was pass out, i guess, because it was wet. it was horrible and fucking hilarious and embarrassing all at once.
