I'm not a very openly emotional person, so anime like Clannad or Angel Beats don't really do anything for me.
However 'Grave of the Fireflies' got me close to crying. Maes Hughes' death in FMA also hit me. Well, the funeral, that is. Y'all probably know what I'm talking about.

Tore my soul out? Yeah, Little Busters is the only one that fits that definition.

But I also cried watching Kanon, Air, Angel Beats, Myself ; Yourself, and Rumbling Hearts. Fairy Tail also has some scenes that get a lot of tears out of me. That's about it.

I loved Eureka Seven, and I didn't want it to end, and I found the ending to be so bittersweet. I know this is an odd choice, because I loved the series so much, and the ending hit like a cannonball.

For anime who's whole point was trying to make you cry I think the only one that made me a little emotional was Ano Hana. A lot of these tragedy/"feels" show feels like they're trying so hard to make you get emotional that it comes off as really.. fake/manufactured (well they all are of course, but it's not supposed to seem that way).

So I'm not someone who likes to watch dramatic anime. Just not my thing. While I know Miyazaki films are great I 'm not watching any of them. I much prefer fighting and action. One movie I will always watch is Ninja Scroll cuz still today its just an epic movie that has everything. Including an extremely sad moment. How it happened, the last words, the music. It such a powerful scene capped off by this.

Yea probably not as sad as most of ur choices but it works for me

Ruroini Kenshin: Reflection was pretty gut wrenching for me at some points.

Ha, guess I'm not the only one. The song that plays in the credits is really emotional, too.

I am going to catch some flak for this but SAO II, specifically the Mother's Rosario arc. Which was the ending arc for SAO II , it felt like such a melancholic way to end the anime.

Though I also add Angel Beats, Sweet Blue Flower, and Toradora.
