So tell me is it more enjoyable to read a book or write one in your personal opinion.

My Turn:

Personally, I rather write a book than read one.

Enjoy!!!

I've never written a book, but it sounds like a lot of effort for a lazy guy like me

I really have to say both. Your imagination can take you anywhere.

i tend to switch back and forth. at the moment, reading a book is more enjoyable to me as i'm in a writing slump. though i know what i want to write it seems i can no longer find the words. i almost feel as if i've completely lost my writing style because i focused more on drawing for awhile. part of this may be due to the fact i'm far more interested in reading nonfiction at the moment, i don't really enjoy writing nonfiction though

Reading is pleasurable. Writing is torture.

Coming up with idea's for things to write down is fun, having to put actually put them down not so much.

I don't really know. I can't say I've really written anything in physical form.
I've never sat down and written a story. I've been working on a story with my best friend for like 7-8 years but it's a plan for a show. We've come up with many ideas and stories within the overall plot but we've never really done what you'd call writing. We've written many ideas down. Does that count? It's all one work and I can't say it's written until it's been produced and that won't happen for many years if it happens at all.
So I'm gonna answer a different question. Is it more fun to watch a show or make one? Probably watching because getting down to actually making a show is difficult.

Reading is a great thing but something about getting your hands dirty and your mind racing to create a scene with believable characters and interactions can make for quite the emotional rush. I slightly prefer writing to reading although, as others have said, both have their merits.

Reading, and through that writing because I'd have all these different great story lines from different books mingling in my head, forming itself into one original, united plot of my own in my head. Thing is I wouldn't want to have to go though all the bother of refining and publishing the book so I definitely enjoy reading more.

Read. I'm innovative, but not creative sadly.

^This hands down.

Writing is indeed torture. It's like I get the perfect idea in my head and am playing it all out. My mind is already on chapter twelve and I have several characters. Then when I go to start my the story it's...how do I do words? So I end up staring at a blank screen for several minutes, begin typing.....delete it all cause I think it's awful. Type again, then delete.....it's a constant repeat until I'm somewhat satisfied. I then get about a chapter done, take a break that lasts several months and completely forget I was even writing a story....Yep so much more pleasure in reading a book.
