Back when I was unemployed, I used to hang around in 1 particular Twitch stream a lot. The streamer was a huge fan of anime, & when they went on break for a long while to take care of some other things, I started watching anime to fill the gap since the stream wasn't around anymore to watch. I started watching Inuyasha, & then moved to other series from there, & it helped me fill a lot of the free time I had. I still watch anime to this day, even though I have a job now that keeps me pretty busy at times.

when i was 14 "long time ago" friend sat me in front of the tv and said have you ever seen akira? "No what's akira?" she plunked in a vhs tape and for the next two and a half hours my mind melted eyes wide with wonder. After that she introduced me to Project A-Ko. that's where it all started After that awsome introduction i found the best anime i could find, Castle Cagliostro, Giant Robo, and my firm belief that 3x3 eyes is still the greatest love story ever told. And some studio needs to pick up where Giant Robo left off, one of the greatest animes, not just because it has giant robo fighting other giant robots, but when i saw it, the humans and villians had astounding power, the story had such great character development, i cared deeply for the characters i fell in love with and still do to this day.

My life kinda didn't take off, so I found escape. I'll be keeping it around no matter where I go or what I do.

Well I watched anime when I was little. But that was because my older sister watched it and I would watch it with her. When she told me that it was anime I started to watch it more because I liked it and I could spend time with my sister as well (we're close sisters). But now I usually watch anime by myself since my sister works and is always out with her boyfriend. I really do like watching anime with her and still want to today.

I played a MMORPG called Maplestory since I was a kid. Started playing on a private server and people on there watched anime. So I started watching it to while I grinded levels. I watched toonami and stuff as a kid but never went full fledge watch anime from start to finish. I stopped watching anime off and on in highschool. Once I graduated I prefered anime over netflix and tv for one huge reason. Because it's animated Anime can tell different and more exciting stories since they don't have to film everything in person like a movie. So this allows you see watch shows that you otherwise would only get as a movie. Anime allows the TV equivalent of action movies. A great example of this is superheros. Movies are live action but most TV shows are animated due to production values for the stories. The superheroes with simple powers that work with a TV budget usually are the ones with more basic powers and easily animated actions. For example Green Arrow and Flash. Flash is just a blurr for most action scenes. Where as green arrow is simple fight scenes. Also, that said superhero tv shows come with a larger budget due to their already decent size fanbase. Which is only growing as the years go on. Anime allows the same stuff but with new characters which would most likely never get the budget for a live action show. Imagine Attack on titans budget for a show to make it look good and not fake.... That said, technology is making live action cheaper and cheaper to produce better quality shows similar to movie counterparts. So this could all be irrelevant in a few years.

When I was a youngin', maybe 9 or 10? My brother wanted me to watch this show that was on Toonami at night called Blue Gender. Now if you ever watched this show, you know how messed up it is!! We still watched it though. After that it was whatever was on, some Cowboy Bebop or other random shows. The first anime I really got into was Neon Genesis Evangelion, just sort of took off after that!

The day I got into Anime was pretty recent actually, it started when I was so bored I had finally decided to watch OPM and AOT which got me hooked instantly, during this it was my half term brake, I had then arrived back to school and had announced that I had started watching anime, after my friend decided to add different animes to my queue. I watched all of them. All 14. In a week. I had then watched as much anime as I could. The end.

college friend told me to watch JoJo's Bizarre adventure. I did. I wasn't all that deep into it, until I watched Erased, then I began viewing Anime in terms of Storytelling rather than purely for fun.

Anime and cartoons was the same thing when you're young. Animes like DBZ, Sailor Moon, Slam Dunk, Slayers & even Voltes 5, old classical book adaptations (Princess Sarah, Cedie, Tom Sawyer) were locally broadcast in my home country as morning shows and afternoon shows. But maybe DBZ and those classical book anime adaptations got me hooked...

I caught anime shows off and on. Speed Racer on Mtv, Vampire Hunter D on Sci-Fi, a little toonami here and there.

But it was my first episode of FMA that made me a real anime fan. My first episode? Ep. 25: Words of Farewell.

I watched the Digimon Anniversary episodes as a kinda nostalgic feeling to my childhood. Then I started watching Initial D and after that I decided I wanted to see just how much anime I could watch within an entire year

I grew up watching anime on Toonami didn't really know what anime was at the time though. After Toonami ended I just went about my life until I came across the trailer for Spice and Wolf. Decided to watch the series and have been hooked on anime ever since.
