How do you feel about your own voice?
Posted 5/18/16
I am asking because there this girl who ask me to speak to her because she like the sound of my own voice She also ask me to speak to her in Spanish, she made a weird face when I did
Anyway so I think my voice is meh but she umm disagree with me.

Has this ever happen to you?
Do you like or dislike your own voice or are you meh about it?
Do I need to get a weapon and run away?
Is this weird?

I don't know what my own voice sounds like to other people so hard to say.
I don't dislike how I sound to me though.

I think most people don't know how their voice actually sounds until they recorded themselves. The way you hear yourself and the way you sound in a recording device is different.

Sometimes I dislike how thick and pronounced my accent is. Whenever I meet somebody not from my area, I usually get lines like "I can definitely tell you're from the south," or "Wow, southern accents are really strong!" or something along those lines.

I dislike my own voice, which is annoying as it stops me from doing what i want to do.
I can't sit and listen to a playback of my own voice without cringing.

So no, i don't. :P

(I dont really care about my accent. I love accents, and i embrace the fact that i say words differently than others. That's the only sort of identity my voice has in my own opinion)

I have a monotone. I can do all sorts of trolling with it. I think I love it.

I can't stand to hear a recording of my own voice. I also get asked infrequently by people in the area where I live where my accent comes from, or at least where I'm from. And I've lived here my whole life >_<

It's kind of funny, everyone knew what they sounded like when I was growing up because we all had tape decks and played with recording ourselves as well as music off the radio to make mix tapes for our friends. We'd intro the songs and why we liked them and thought the person getting the tape should like them, etc. I got one from a guy once that he'd recorded the whole thing in the bathroom while he was in the tub to make his voice sound different.

Yes, when you record your voice - that is how other people hear you. Here's an explanation about why you sound different to yourself: http://mentalfloss.com/article/12796/why-do-our-voices-sound-different-us-other-people

People say they can't tell my mom, my sister, or me apart on the telephone because our voices all sound alike.

However, I've been told by more than one person I have a sexy voice - partly because I have a lower female voice as an alto. I find it interesting that in anime, the girls try to make their voices higher to be more appealing.

I personally feel that my normal tone of voice is too feminine to suit me, but I admit that it projects pretty well and sounds brilliantly nasty when I use my angry and growling tones.

I like my voice, though I rarely think about that. When I'm getting sick (cold), I like how I could make my voice sound like those movie (trailer) commentators. lol

I don't think much about my voice (I never think about it), but some of my friends like it because it's mellow and bassy. The mellow part probably just comes from my constant boredom.

I'm okay with how my voice sounds normally.

My problem is with things like weather changes wreaking havoc on my sinuses, affecting my voice.

So really, my issue is with consistency.
