CR just got some more older shows. I'm not saying that's bad, but-

Seriously how about getting some decent shows from the CURRENT season instead?

These aren't available on CR and I'm disappointed as a paid member:

Kabaneri
Netoge
Macross Delta

Dude I address this already. The first two are either impossible or outreach right now. One because amazon and the other Funimation.
Macross Delta is the one I think is possible. Although I am more concern with the US and Canada only shows. If this continues they are going to alienate some of their International CR customers base. Is kinda a ridiculous situation.

PS I not saying is CR fault but the amount of only US and Canada shows is jarring to me.

PS extra. NOT EVERYBODY WATCHES SEASONAL ANIME.

Its not always just up to CR. You never know they could have already tried to get many. Gotta keep in mind Crunchyroll is a legal site they won't upload anything without permission from the owners of the anime in Japan. Would be nice tho for sure!

I remember there were some shows that were simultaneously available on CR and Funimation. I don't know about Amazon since last time I tried to stream from there the quality seems really crappy. Their streaming seems to be some kind of afterthought since most people get Prime just for the shipping.

Unfortunately, I have little faith in us getting Macross Delta at all. I don't think Macross Frontiers, Macross Seven or even Macross Zero ever received a U.S. release either streaming or DVD/Blu-ray. With the new face of the anime industry and Disney, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, Crunchyroll and Funimation now also getting in on the exclusivity/funding/creation side of things I hope to be proven wrong but for some reason I have the nagging feeling I won't be.

Oiy. We will never leagally get any Macross titles (other than Macross and Macross Plus) thanks to Harmony Gold. They own the rights to the name and won't allow the other titles in this country. They won't let go of the dream of Robotech.

Harmony Gold is behaving like those patent trolls that produce nothing and just wait for the royalty money.

This thread should probably be posted in the Anime section or the Suggestions / Feedback section since it pertains to anime and CR, specifically.

That said, CR does get a lot of new seasonal anime.

As bobland points out above, CR absolutely demolished the competition this season in terms of seasonal anime pick ups. So, to say you want more quantity is absurd. Given the titles you list, I think you really want a higher quality of the seasonal anime; which is subjective anyhow, but the ones listed are surely on the more popular side at least.

To explain specifically why CR does not have the ones you list:

Kabaneri - Amazon Prime made a massive deal to acquire all Noitamina block shows for the next few years as exclusive to their streaming platform. Rumor has it they paid upwards of $150k per anime in the deal. Which, to put in context, is more than double the reported highest amount paid for an anime, including home video rights, of about $75k back in the pre-bubble anime days. No other streaming service would dream of spending that kind of money on streaming rights alone, especially not CR. It just would not make financial sense. Get used to every Noitamina show the next few years being exclusive to Amazon Prime, since they paid a hefty price for that privilege over the competition.

Amazon and Fuji TV announced on Thursday that they have signed a deal for Amazon's Amazon Prime Video service to exclusively stream series from Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block going forward.

Netoge - FUNimation got it by bidding higher than CR did. Pretty simple here, FUNi was willing to pay more than CR. I know this because CR claims they bid on every show each season, so if the show went to FUNi and not CR, then logically, FUNi offered the better deal between the two.

Macross Delta - No one got it. Likely due to the whole Harmony Gold debacle with the Macross franchise in general.

Then it stands to reason to expect a better strategy when it comes to acquisitions instead of taking the shotgun approach and end up getting outbid on the Big Fishes.

I would hesitate to call Netoge or Kabaneri "Big Fishes".

As a member of both CR and Funi, Funi's pickings this season are on the slim side ( but this whole season is kinda meh ). Netoge can be amusing but its nothing you haven't seen 100 times already. Kumo Miko is is a nice slice of life, but nothing special and you really need to be in the mood to watch it. My Hero Academia is well done but its by the numbers shonen.

RE: Zero is probably about the best thing on right now and the only show I watch as soon as I can.
