Crunchyroll's app finally gets a little love at the first of the year and can run on Android TV without crashing.

Now some Nexus Players are running Android N as part of the public beta project with Google.

Crunchyroll App crashes immediately upon launch. Uninstall, reinstall, etc fails to clear the crash.

Will Crunchyroll consider contacting their Android app developer and getting it where it will run on Android N?

Thanks

Sounds like you found a bug as part of the beta program: the system works.

One reason to start early, it took Crunchyroll almost a year to bring their Android app compatible with Android TV and Android M.

I keep an old 0.9x version on hand to side load and use because it does function (without a lot of features, but it works).

Besides the massive pause blocking display of the currently app, it has been functional and solid without an other major issues.

Having used Crunchyroll's Android apps from Day One, I've learned patience is a prerequisite.

UPDATE (FYI)

Crunchyroll App 0.9.6 runs just fine on Android N with no issues (except what was normal for that app).

So happy news is I'm back to watching Crunchyroll on my TV via Nexus Player without having to Chromecast from a computer or phone.

Again, version 0.9.6 functions on Android N

PS- the main issue with CR App 0.9.6 is that the Pause does not work. But fortunately RW & FF appear to function properly

Update.

Tested 2.0.1-296 version of the CR App and it appears to run smoothly. Will keep testing. excited to be able to move up from the functional but not fun 0.9.6 version.

I've seen a number of users reporting issues with most current CR app crashing on launch, so it could be that it is not an Android N Beta issue as much as a faulty version release.
