Why you had a happy, unhappy, or meh childhood.
Posted 5/21/16

Mine was meh, it wasn't unhappy, nor was it particularly blissful. I lost my father at a young age, so I didn't really have much of a memory to grieve over him really.

What about you! Feel free to go in as much depth as you're comfortable!

I had a great childhood!
I was the first born and was spoiled greatly. When I would go grocery shopping with my parents I was allowed to get whatever I wanted. I had a cupboard at home filled with all sorts of junk food and the fridge would always have its fair share of junk food as well. My mother was overprotective but I could do whatever I wanted as long as it was in the house.

It wasn't bad, but i was extremely socially awkward. So that was fun.

Not that great but it could of been worse.

Unhappy.
Abuse, cutting to deal with it left with physical scars that'll never go away and all that shit.

It was not pleasant for the most part.

Mine was fun, I was pretty spoiled. I was very gullible though and extremely socially awkward.

Meh I would say. Was always kind of a loner and isolated myself a lot, but was never really too unhappy, and still am not. I am just a generally happy dude, even when times are tough

Unhappy. Bullied a lot, depression hit early and was (and still am) always alone despite my best efforts to make friends.

My childhood was meh! but at least I got into a lot of cartoons during my elementary school days like Scooby Doo, Tom & Jerry or even Birdman. I can't forget about good PBS shows like Arthur, Reading Rainbow or even The Magic School Bus.

Very unhappy.

Had to leave my home country because of war, lost my language and culture trying so hard to learn English and adapt to American life, got bullied as a kid, and my first mental disorder developed around elementary school.

I had a happy childhood. We weren´t especially wealthy but I had enough to eat every day and my parents did their best not to let our financial state affect us in any way, which it didn´t. I also grew up in one of the richest countries in the world with the best welfare system in the world so I had a safe upbringing. I learned all the most important values, I had a mother and a father as well as a sibling. I have a big family outside of our core.

I never had to fear for anything, I could always talk to my parents. I wasn´t spoiled but I felt loved.

Because of these reasons that it seems most in my country take for granted, I wouldn´t trade my childhood away for anything.
