Ok so the Crunchyroll App on my Roku (2710X - Roku 1) has not been working for months; I've been in school so I've been putting off looking into this issue, but now that I can get back into my endless anime marathons I'm trying to resolve this problem. I've searched around on the forum and have tried several of the solutions people have given, but none are working. Every episode I attempt to watch gives me the following error message: "Playback Interrupted - Sorry the app can't continue playing your video because of an unexpected error. Please check your connection." However, my connection is fine, as my other apps (such as Hulu) work without a problem. I've tried going to my Roku's "Display Type" in Settings (as one person suggestion in a forum thread) but the only options I have are 4:3 and 16:9 - tried both and no change, still get the error message. I even did a factory restart and I still get the error message. At this point I'm at a loss and don't know what else I can try Please help, I'd really like to watch all the shows I've been missing!

someone also got the "please check your connection" message, but for them it was due to licensing restrictions.
maybe Roku detects your location as though you're from Canada and also thinks that you don't have a premium membership
(considering how incredibly buggy CR apps seems to be, that doesn't seem too far out of question)

I think I am, the cables are yellow, red, and white. I have HDMI capability but no cord so I must be using RCA?

Yes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA_connector.

To fix this, I believe you need to switch to an HDMI cable (which offers better video quality), and make sure your Roku is set to output HD video.

Yes, definitely switch to HDMI. RCA does not allow HD playback at all, which renders most of your premium benefits moot. It will look A LOT better using an HDMI cable. All devices you use with your TV should be using HDMI, if the device supports it and enough inputs on the TV are available.

Didn't realize there was an HDMI port in the back of my Roku and luckily I had a small HDMI cable on hand, plugged that in and changed my settings to 1080 and now my Crunchyroll app is working although the picture doesn't look as high quality as I thought it would be. But at least it's working.

Video quality auto-adjusts according the connection quality to the video servers. You may not be getting the highest resolution stream.
At the same resolution the video and audio quality should always be superior via HDMI.

Hi I keep getting the same error and I am using an HDMI cord. I contacted Crunchyroll and they told me to deactivate and reactivate my account with the TV. I'm still getting the same error. I can't watch anything on Crunchy roll.
