Does giving money to the Church count? If not, then no.

I help others with my time, not with my money. I need money to live and buy food, and items that ultimately matter to me. Why would I donate my hard earned cash to a charity, I'm not some pushover lmao. If people are seriously in need of money, go and ask the people that have it. Rich Fucking snobs who blow their noes with 100$ bills, and not the people actually trying to survive. I'll give money to things I'd like to support, that means when I pay, I shall ultimately recieve, who in their right mind would throw away money just for the thought of charity, what a Disgusting concept people have forced onto others. I'd rather contribute to my RSP something that actually helps my situation, maybe if I didn't have to worry about money then I'd construct a Fucking building where I can keep all the sick and dying people in need of help and a home, you know almost like a hospital but better living conditions and proper aid.

Charity, what a joke. I'm a kind person, but I'm not going to blindly hand over something, because if I can't personally and physically help someone, it's just another scam for your money. You know why can't they just ask people to come and help us with something, these people would really appreciate, but no; instead they just ask for hand outs expecting you to sympathize with those people. People helping people, no, more like suckers putting cash into their pockets before the ones who are in need of it.

I support the two poor kids that are always by the traffic light near my house, does that count?

Giving money to the church does count indeed.

I don´t donate to organisations as I don´t know how much of that money actually gets to the people that need it. But I support a small orphanage in Kenya directly.

I refuse to give to most charities and I absolutely NEVER give to beggers on the street. A lot of them are just scams designed to take money and then it goes in the pockets of their executives. However, I do give to a specific number because I either know the people running it (the animal shelter) or because it's just too good a cause and has a good track record (St. Jude's Children's hospital). Typically though I prefer to purchase something that is sent to the charity such as dog food or pet toys or in the case of wounded veterans the UA Backpack that has clothing for them when they are at Walter Reed.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with volunteering your time when/where you can. I honestly should have made the OP more clearly inclusive of any charities or causes you do volunteer work for.

It counts in my book, though to what extent depends on the church in question. Not all churches do charity work, but where I'm from the local churches are often the spearhead in humanitarian causes like feeding and sheltering the homeless.

No, I have a hard time making myself care about people outside of my monkey-sphere.

i go down to mexico to build homes, feed homeless, donate money, buy homeless people good meals, give hitchhikers rides, take needy people shopping for what ever they need. I just like to help others less fortunate then me but I can be very selfish at times in a matter of speaking because my priorities come first.

Nope. I rather buy a pizza. Too poor to care or pretend to care.

Yes, I donate to Animal Aid Unlimited and I work in the medical field, every once a year we raise money for our Children Are the Future campaign. I'm also a volunteer at an animal sanctuary just an hour and a half from my city. Where I clean and feed baby goats and miniature horses.

When I get rid of things from my home I donate them to clothing stores or church foundations that help the homeless.

Why would I waste my money on such things?
