When you make an honest forum post without realizing there is already a forum post about it, and then someone trolls it and closes/locks the forum. I think it's rude and CR needs to get rid of that feature.

Doesn't lorreen have that policy of not locking threads that are a repost of a thread that is a couple of years old or something.
Otherwise it's not rude or anything, it's just a repost. If you want to see a discussion, read the original thread. If you want to restart a discussion, necro the original thread.

Hail_King_Kakao Well, I'm not going to hunt down a thread that exists without my knowledge. I don't appreciate my thoughts being ignored. It's not like I was spamming or anything.

Well that's fine, but you can't really complain if the thread gets deleted because you can't be bothered to look for it. If you care so much about having your opinion being heard, now that you know the thread exists, which I am also pretty sure Lorreen (assuming she closed it) put a link to, you can post there instead. No rules are broken, you have your opinion out in the open, everyone is happy.

I'm sorry you thought it was rude. I certainly wasn't being a "troll" though--it's my job as moderator to enforce CR 's site rules . Most users prefer that there not be multiple threads discussing the same thing, and that's why we discourage duplicate threads.

I really do wish moderators had a way to merge individual posts into existing threads, but unfortunately we don't, so the best we can do is let people know when we've closed their thread so they can make the post again in the open thread (which in this case was a recent thread, and which I did give you the link to).
