I feel like without my religion I would become a nihilist.
Life would have no meaning. I'd find it to be the biggest of all jokes. To spend time on life and then for it to disappear unavoidably. I'd have no hope. I'd think we're just born to die. Decisions wouldn't matter because in the end nothing will exist and you'll be less than a thought. Some day even coca cola and Shakespeare will be forgotten. What chance do you have? One day all life will end and it will be the ultimate punchline to the longest joke ever told.

Edit: I asked what you would do without your religion. I don't have anything against atheists as people and I understand it but so many of you are just here to say that God doesn't exist and I was willing to ignore that you weren't answering my question but it's getting old. I didn't ask weather or not you believe in God. If you're an Atheist than you don't really apply to the situation unless you consider atheism a religion.

I always pray to God and Jesus Christ on What the reason for me to be here (real life).

If it wasn't for them, I would be already dead or become Shinsengumi and kill those I consider Evil!

Edit:

Well, I highly doubt I'll kill them, probably bring them to justice.. What I mean is they have the right to have fair trail.

IOW, you'd basically turn into Woody Allen, and annoy everyone within earshot. Good enough reason to hold onto it.

All God has done for me is disappoint me... So I stopped looking to him for support. I rely on myself now and I live for myself, not to satisfy some dude in the sky. When I did believe in him, I only felt anger and confusion. I honestly think religion is used more often as an excuse for violence and wars, not for what it was meant to be.

These are just my bitter feelings. Don't take it personally and believe in God if you want.

My religion provided no benefit to me, only disadvantages so I abandoned it long ago, I've accepted that there is no reason for life except for what we make of it. I'm happier because of it actually.

I find happiness in human advancement and fiction. I love hearing about scientific advancements and stuff even though I don't understand most of it.

Not even. I'd have no reason to even speak. No decision would have any meaning. We'd all be insignificant and waiting to just die.

Plenty of us have already come to said conclusion. It depends why you lose religion. If it is due to a tragic event, you haven't really lost it you have just denied it. When you come to a realization that the whole idea of what you have been told life is, is indeed a lie, you understand the importance of now. You gather your own meaning, your decisions are your own, you have your own convictions. Why do so many need to be shown how to live (especially by outrageously old unscientific documents))? Do what makes you happy. I feel that biology has written, in our genetics, a will and lust for positive progress for humanity (for most). To the universe your decisions are already pointless, the decisions you make currently stem very little from religion and are indeed more necessity and are based off of what you yearn for, you would make these decisions regardless for the good of humanity.

LOSE RELIGION FIND TRUE MEANING

If everyone lost their religion the world would be a much, much, much, much better place. So try it.

Even with a religion, how would you feel living for eternity? Isn't it just as stupid as non-existence?

No. You aren't just promised eternal life. You're promised eternal life and eternal happiness. You will always be satisfied.

And you're happy with being a robot?

Because that seems to fit the definition of a robot...

That's not a robot. It's the absence of sadness. It's world peace. It's what people try to achieve.

I would be highly pissed if I found out its all lies. I heard that the Priests in Rome, Vatican are hiding a document from public eye.. Because they don't think we can handle it!

God gave us Free Will, otherwise Lucifer (Now known as Satan) wouldn't rebelled against God if that was true.

Nothing? Although I do believe in a religion, I don't live my entire life based on it.
