Well that'd not good. Guess I will have to search for the apk else where. Would be nice if Crunchy roll would update the app on the Amazon market every so often so when something like this happens we can fall back to another version.

Edit: Or better yet. Why not create a Beta channel for the app in the Play Store so that bugs like this are found before they hit the stable channel. Then you can also keep the Amazon market up to date with the latest stable build as well.

I just find it kind of ridiculous that the problems and reports of the problems started on May 26th after the update, but instead of either rolling out a fix (which obviously there wasn't one ready) or reverting the Play Store download to the previous build until a fix was ready, they left it there for the weekend. Since it was left there for the weekend there are now probably more reports than usual coming through the report system which could have been avoided, and this thread would have ended sooner as well.

The Amazon app store currently does not allow our later versions. The app is not compatible to the requirements set forth by Amazon.

The 505 error was not nearly as frequent as the crash error for Android 4.x and seems to be a lot more device specific than that other error. Either way, it was reported and they should be looking at it soon.

Managed to find a clean apk online of v 2.0.4 that's working right now at least until the installation bug is resolved.

, I been having the error -505 when I try to download the crunchy application trough out android market, and I did everything already, are they going to fix this bug or is better to find another anime outlet?? I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and I tried to download the application with WiFi and data as well, and nothing same error, can some one help me please? Or crunchyroll don't even care, they kill the update for old android so I can not see crunchyroll on my Toshiba tablet because the os is old, and this is what happen with the new software update lol, bring back the old software for people that can't afford new tables and love anime

This 505 thing is causing some harsh reviews online. Luckily, I was able to find the 05 version on apkmirror.com so I could keep using the app.

@DArislan, is it safe to download the previous version of the app from apk mirror? Also, can you still get updates for the app from the Google Play store or does it have to be from apk mirror?

Oh thank cthulu, I thought the 505 was a problem on my end. Whew!

If it helps, my phone is a galaxy note 3 running 5.0. If you need specific kernel info or anything else, just give me a shout!

Yes and yes. Research apkmirror.com on your own, but I find it a trustworthy site. And yes, you will still get store updates.

Its been almost a week now with no progress. Other than people voicing their problems theirs been no response. All the trouble shooting available Is no help. If the problem is big just return to the old version while you fix it. More communication on the estimated time until it will be fixed would be nice. Any communication is better than none.

I know right. I had to go to a completely different site to download the old apk since I removed the app from my device trying to get the update to work. At least what Crunchyroll could have done was posted the old apk on the forum for us that we're having the 505 error. I'm just saying I feel as a paying Premium member since 2009 that Crunchyroll has kind of dropped the ball on this one.
