In one hand this is funny as hell but on the other hand is really racist.

I like Asians, but a Chinese guy with a bowl cut isn't an improvement at all.

So according to the Chinese commercial and this Italian commercial, it seems that you can stuff a guy in your laundry washer and he'll change to the ethnicity of your dream guy.

What a time to be alive.

There's a video saying that liberals are hypocrites because of a similar commercial 9 years ago, to which no outrage occurred, yet this is erroneous due to a few things.

-It was 9 years ago. No one is talking about it now.

-Tumblr and Twitter, bastions for many current liberals, weren't around 9 years ago. Things didn't spread quite as fast.

-Racism against dark skinned people are very real in Asian countries, versus racism against whites by....whites? Not saying it isn't possible, but conservative are often the first to use the "I have a black best friend" or versus liberals or right wingers "I'm black" as an assurance they are not racist. Make up your fucking mind about these excuses.

-The circumstances are different. You could compare a white man to an ape and not be called racist, but to ignore the last 150 years and compare black people to apes will understandably make people upset. Capeesh? The context of history is important. Don't ignore it.

Similar, it is expected for Asian media to cast Asian actors in minority roles because....they're the overwhelming majority. This isn't America, where we pride ourselves on diversity and where white people make up AT MOST 70% of the population.

I know that this is a pretty blatantly racist commercial and I'm against racism, but I couldn't help but laugh at it.
