This upcoming Anime Expo will be my third time attending so I can offer some tips:

1) It will be hot during 4th of July weekend, so bring bottled water! There are water fountains in the convention center so you can refill up your water bottle. Do your best to stay hydrated. Do not buy the food inside the convention center, it is a rip off. There are food options outside of the convention center such as food trucks. There really isn't any sort of cheap food since it is downtown LA but at least food trucks will give you options in price

2) Fortunately badge pick ups have significantly improved since last year. Prior to 2015, there used to be massive lines and long wait times to pick up badges, but with the new system the wait time has been cut down. So hopefully you won't experience trouble picking up the badge as long as you have your eventbrite receipt printed out or on your phone (you will need to show your ID too). Badge pick ups can be done at two locations: South Hall or West Hall

3) Yes it will be crazy crowded, the weekend is the most crowded. Plan ahead of time if there are panels you want to attend to, such as getting in line an hour or more in advance for the popular events. Some of the lines are outside which is why it's important to have water for the wait

4) Bring a phone charger since phone batteries can drain away quickly if you're taking lots of photos or using data. In the LA convention center, sometimes phone reception can be spotty which will drain the battery away even more as it tries to find signal

5) Definitely check out the dealer's hall and artist alley. If you're at anime expo on the last day, the dealers are pretty much trying to get rid of all their merchandise so you can try and bargain or negotiate with them. The anime expo website has the hours for the dealer's hall and another area called the entertainment hall so it's always good to do research beforehand.

6) Most importantly have fun! Anime Expo is the biggest anime convention in North America so all kinds of people and cosplayers will be there.

Wow this list was a big longer than what i expected, hopefully this helps!

We already attended or will attend conventions in the UK, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Spain, and Italy. Other countries may happen, too, in the future.

Y'know, the offer's still open if some of you guys want to attend our convention next week. :D
Although it's a tad too late to arrange a table/stand, I think we can still make some room for flyers and promotional material.

Great to meet Adam at MoMoCon. Even with the usual "technical difficulties" it was a fun get together.

Hope Crunchyroll has a larger presence at MomoCon 2017 next year than they did this year.

Be prepared to spend 5 bucks per drink whether it come from a machine or a stand lol. The food inside the convention center isn't that great and the inside stalls usually have greasy bad food I never tried to trucks outside though but they do smell good lol. If its very hot the'll be handing out bottles of water for people waiting in line to get their badge or waiting in line to enter the building.
Try to empty your camera or phone of the pictures you will prob take a TON of photos of people and kids wearing costumes with parents. If you buy your tickets on the everbrite site check out the schedule on the anime expo site so you can map out the places you want to attend by day and time each day will have different events or movie showings you wont want to miss.
