Ever had any trouble with privacy and work?

my boss asked me to access a google file with my gmail. Little did I know that gmail carries literally every from your browser and computer-- not just emails. I try to avoid using gmail in my personal computer ever since. Literally, I was able to access my boss's passwords and accounts from my personal computer because it was saved on the browser at work.

It's ridiculous.

You know you can clear your browsers cache and get rid of those cookies right?

Edit: What browser are you using?

I did clear it, saving the passwords... Since I still work there and I need them to access important documents.

I usually only use Firefox. The only reason why I began using chrome was because it was the default app in the Mac pc

I'm not too familiar with Chrome as i avoid it when possible but typically you get a prompt that asks if you "want chrome to remember this password". Click no and it doesn't save it. I think it can be setup to automatically save passwords without asking though, I know you could on firefox.

Gmail isn't bad with firefox but it does some unique stuff with chrome.

What I do with firefox is add a master password that I have to input to be able to use my saved passwords.

Always keep work and private life separate. Never log into your non-work email accounts, websites, or anything on a work computer. Do all of that on your phone if you have a smartphone.

I work in IT and you would not believe the stuff people do on their work computer. It is common for people to save their passwords in chrome or even log into their chrome profile. What happens if you are fired and not allowed back to your desk, as is common in business today? Whoever is in IT can theoretically reset your password, log in as you, and see everything. More likely their boss will demand IT do that for them.

There is also the issue of web monitoring. If a company has it set up they can see every website you visit, and if it isn't HTTPS encrypted, everything you post. If you are posting at work and they have the right software in place they can read every single thing you post on Crunchyroll. Some bosses might not care, others are nosey bastards and will care.

Basically don't assume any privacy at work unless its on your phone, and even then be careful with wifi if it is monitored.

I don't know what is worse, that you think playing Runescape at work is appropriate or that you still play Runescape.

Either way it's between you and your boss. My personal opinion is I don't care what you do so long as it isn't illegal and you get your work done. I mean, isn't that why you are being paid? But I don't sign the cheques so I don't make that call.

Well if you are doing something on the side whilst completing your work there should be no problem in my opinion.

Also Runescape is still a good MMO that gets great updates.

My friend worked in the same area of IT im going into and have done work and his boss let him watch Netflix whilst working.
My Superior when i worked fixing computers let us all off for lunch and we got paid for it as it was classed under work hours as a "Team building exercise"

As long as you get your work done i don't see the problem well aslong as your boss is ok with it.

Totally agreed. Unfortunately many bosses, if not most, would disagree with us. Be sure to know what is acceptable at your workplace before trying anything like that. Some of us are fortunate to work in a lax environment. Others not so much.

I have no boundaries. I use all my phones for personal and professional stuff. I access personal and work things on both my personal and work laptops. If things need extra security, I boot up VPNs and get remote access if needed.

What we just got a new client and a few quests and new combat abilities.

The game is way better then it used to be. (Besides the horrible mtx)

I prefer Runescape to WoW , ffxiv and guild wars 2 and many other mmos as the game is better in many ways.

More games need more grinding skills and non-combat content.

Runescape was ruined with EoC.
