You could probably boil it down to living for yourself, whether you say you live for yourself or you live for others.

In the case you say you are living your life for others, why do you say that? Are they important to you, does their happiness give you joy? It all boils down to self satisfaction, you only help others because you are helping yourself.

Now this is a cynical view of course, but once I heard of this opinion, many moons ago, I couldn't find a way to argue it.

I guess it depends. You should live for yourself. But if you are unable to live for yourself, you should live for others that will miss you.

I said damn

But you're technically right. On a biological level we live to make more of us. In a social sense? Depends on the country where you live.

That's what life is all about. Finding the person to live for.

Personally I live for the love of my friends and family

People live for whomever they want. Most live for themselves, some live for others. That's all.

OP's logic: Do a selfish act and suddenly you only live for yourself and only one person is being selfish in the equation.

You live for yourself like the 3 sannin, then realize you want to see something else succeed.

I can also agree that Itachi is most likely god.

Many live for themselves. Many live for others. everyone has a different stance on it, and who is selfish or not is completely subjective.

Myself, I live for myself and only myself. I enjoy the friends and family around me, but I do not experience their lives, therefor I care a lot less about them compared to how much I care about myself.

For those closest to me. My friends, and family. And myself.

If not for those closest to me my life would lack a lot of it's substance.I personally need to have friends in my life, to share experiences with and discuss ideas. I think there are a lot of animes out there that reinforce this ideal that we can truly be great if we present ourselves openly and without alterior motives together. I also live for my friends and family because I know the feeling is mutual.

On the other hand though I find myself frequently motivated by the uncertainty of my future. Where will I be next year? Who will I be around then? The answer is never clear until I start working towards a personal goal.

I don't think I could have a strong group of friends if I did not also have confidence in who I am. And I don't think I could have achieved confidence in who I am had it not been for my family and friends. I live for both me and them, not one or the other.
