I think music is very stale rather than dead. Tbh, I don't like to listen to a lot of music made after 1996 (thanks to talentless singers like Britney Spears, Nsync or Hilary Duff).

Im a Audiophile and when it comes to modern music its a total mess, i like to listen to good music but todays music is terrible, dumb and just unenjoyable.

Sure SOME are good to listen to that are modern but alot of music these days are just trash anything modern is just bad i personally like Classical and Symphony but i would go to the past selection of music and get my jams going with those and despite my preference i would listen to anything just not country "Lord forbid...."

Also Music is so darn loud these days and have very little dynamics to them, horrible Sonics etc.. a standard song these days are volume cranked and its just not dynamic and sounds terrible if your like me you will take a song edit its volume to tone it down and adjust its dB's..

Can't say I'm a fan of modern mainstream pop crap, but in my opinion the indie music scene has far greater reach than it's ever enjoyed before: Recording equipment is better (and cheaper) than it used to be, online music distribution services (i.e. iTunes) allow just about anyone to sell their music all over - something that only used to be possible if you scored a deal with major record label.

All this means that if you're willing to dig for it, there's still someone out there recording music today that'll appeal to you no matter what your particular tastes are.

Don't understand what's wrong with autotune. If you wrote a kick ass song, but you couldn't sing very well, would you choose to use autotune and share a great song you wrote, or just not do it because you don't have talent for singing?
