Another puzzle!

A CEO of a multi-million dollar business has to go on a business trip to Belgium (from somewhere in America). Before going to the airport in the morning with his limousine, he's going to the office first to get some files that he forgot the previous night.

When arriving at the office, the night guard opens the gate & door for him. The CEO gets the files and drinks a coffee while chatting a bit with the guard, and he mentions that he's flying to Belgium today for a deal he cannot miss, it would bring millions of dollars to the business.

The night guard looks shocked, and explains why.

Guard: I just had a dream this night. A plane that would fly to Belgium is going to crash in the middle of the Ocean.

The night guard begs his CEO not to go on this business trip. And the CEO believes him. He doesn't go to the airport and cancels his flight. Later that day, on the news, an air-plane crash... It was the plane that flew to Belgium. It crashed in the middle of the ocean.

The CEO thanks the night guard later and gives him $10.000.
The CEO also tells the night guard that he's fired.

Question: Why did the CEO fire the night guard after he saved his life?

My guess would be, suspicion it was not a dream but that the guard was somehow involved in the airplane crash event.

But that's not really a puzzle answer, so I'm probably missing a clue.

EDIT: Yeah, I missed the "this night" clue. Thing is, I used to be a night guard. In reality no one is likely to say "this night" and really you could say something like that and be referring to a legitimate sleep period, rather than a nap on the job. (I never slept on the job, but I knew guards who did.)

The guard is obviously a mutant whos power is to make his dreams come true, however he is unable to control it. To prevent blowback, the CEO fired him in the hope that reducing his exposure to the guard would reduce the chances of the guard accidentally dreaming of his death.

Because people freak out when they think someone has any type of ESP or supernatural power. The CEO probably thought that the guard made a deal with the devil or something.

Because the CEO found out that the guard was moonlighting at his rival company, and that is why he was sleeping on the job!
See, there is always a twist!

as a Armed guard myself, their are certain things you can and can't do. now Ive worked for Ruger firearms and DES which is the company that handles medical and food stamps. you have to get on peoples good side or else you will find yourself not working that post ever again or in worst cases the job. assuming that this story is false for reasons that the majority of Guards are contracted through pvt security companies, however the ceo can get you fired by talking to your boss if he hates you. Now I can only come to the conclusion based off the little information that he just wasnt doing his job properly. IE not walking around during shifts, talking to long to people, flirting with the co workers, showing up late, caught on camera doing something stupid and so on.

I do not think it is because he was asleep because there is always more then one guard on shift, they hold eachother accountable, switching off and so forth.
