So I am not sure if this is the right forum for this, but something that I was thinking and I know will bug me if it isn't done right. Berserk is an adult themed anime. With the Black Swordsman arc coming out in July, I am worried about it being heavily censored. Now if it is censored from the source, then there really isn't anything that Crunchyroll can do about it. If it isn't though please don't add censorship to the show. It is violent, gritty, dark, and sexual. That is the overall theme of the whole series. There is no way that this can convey part of the story if it is heavily censored.

I know one of the main things that would likely be censored happened earlier in the story, however they will likely do a flashback with Guts PTSD. Anyways I am getting off my soap box. Moral of the story please don't censor this anime Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll isn't the one who censors the anime. Crunchyroll normally obtains the TV broadcast version which is censored by the studio/network that makes it before Crunchyroll gets it.

I'll second what Iberjib said and say that Crunchyroll doesn't have anything to do with censorship. They get the version that airs on TV and if it happens to be censored then CR will sometimes get the uncensored edition like with Terra Formars.

It is without a doubt a stupid decision by the network to censor something that can't tell it's story properly without violence like Berserk or Terra Formars. This also happens a lot with ecchi series. Crunchyroll doesn't have any control over what the network or the studio censors, which is tragic because if Berserk comes out to be censored then I'll personally go to Japan and kill the people in charge of this decision.

That would be another option, but God knows when we will see an American release In the meantime, I guess I'll start saving the money because I'm sure it will be expensive.

Sorry a little off topic, but Black Swordsman arc? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought this new series was gonna be an adaptation of the Lost Children arc?

The first chapters of the manga before going into the flashback of the Golden Age are considered the Black Swordsman arc if I'm not mistaken. But considering that they've been promoting the appearances of Serpico, Farnese and Isidro, it's very likely we're going to see the Lost Children arc and even possibly the confrontation against the Holy Iron Chain Knights in the Tower of Conviction.

You could be right. Everything I read is it takes off where the recent Golden Age arc movies end, which since they didn't start with the Black Swordsman arc, I assumed they would start there and then progress with the story chronologically instead of how the manga takes place. I know it gets far enough along for Serpico and Farnese to join the story, so we shall see.

As for the responses, yeah I kinda figured it would be more on the publishers as far as censorship goes. I guess I should have just said please don't censor it period, as opposed to directing it towards Crunchyroll.
