^ yea this pretty much sums up my experience as well.

I am the oldest child and i can say it not been a easy road..

No, not really. My big sis had a delinguent(ish) phase that rendered her "the rebellious one." Plus, I have a little sis who was favored as "the baby." Our older sister pretty much epitomized "what not to do," from sleeping with married men, to school fights. Marine boot camp straightened her out, though, and she honestly enjoyed it.

I never had this problem as I was the eldest. My brothers did get compared to me on occasion by my parents and some of my former teachers. When they got into trouble, meant I was given more responsibilities. I was often told that as eldest I had to "take care of them", "lead by example". The plus was that they had to listen to me otherwise they got it when Mom and Dad got home.

I'm the oldest, but only recently I learned that my father had been looking down on me the entire time fearing I would become a problem child, he was wrong by the way I turned out alright. As for my mom, she didn't play favorites with me and my brother but my father definitely preferred my brother

I never considered to compare myself with an adult, no. I was just happy whenever she took me places. That said, I perhaps wanted to be an adult, at the time, so I could be with her more, or be accepted as something more than just a child she was responsible for.

OP, run home to your parents and complain to them.
Not me.

Nope, my parents take everything out on me. I'm like the guinea pig, and my siblings learn from my mistakes.

Atleast we leave each other alone, but the parents didn't really care as we as siblings sorted it more out with each other (personal then interrupted)

So being the oldest, I did put some sense into my little brothers.
The little girls love me..
Got even more girls around the corner.. jk..

Big sis was allowed to get away with a lot. Then the family saw the consequences of that and came down like a tonne of bricks at the next one in line, me and the others. There was a time when the grandparents wouldn't talk to or about big sis. That's when I suddenly became their golden child much to my surprise.

Before grandfather died I went back to visit them in the Caribbean he said when he first saw a picture of all of us grandchildren he picked me out to be his favourite. He changed his mind when he got to see us all in person. I was chubby and big sis looked just like my aunt who had been their favourite as a child.

Between my parents, my older sister was the favored one. Relatives put her on a pedestal. I plan on surpassing her reputation someday.
