I hate to say it but manga cost money and not everyone has the money to buy manga.

Actually...not that I"m condoning this, but I've seen plenty of translations still around for series like Bleach, One Piece, AoT....

though to be honest, I despise Viz's translation of Bleach so fuck them. They got that Sailor Moon money now.

I mean you can always get manga from a library depending if they have the one you want.

That's true. But it also depends on whether your library carries manga in the first place.

My library carries some but it's like scattered volumes of certain titles like Bleach or Dragonball....

Exactly.

in my country, manga volumes are very expensive. Well I guess it depends on how "popular" the manga series is but I've only purchased the cheaper series because yeah-- poor asf. and that reaction of the person in OP's post is something people from my country would do and I understand that = v=;; but the same thing goes for animes too tho, like not all animes could be supported by legal sites like crunchyroll so there would be times where you'd have to result to going to illegal streaming sites o vo;;

ye know is strange
i was in plan to make,
documentary, the pricing of today comics n manga
from the impact on today mexican culture, and their economic.
so here Mexico a manga cost 79 pesos,
in dollar would be 4 buckurus.
but thats made by the publishers, not the mangakas.
self publishing in mexico, go my 3000 pesos
that in dollars would be 200 bucks.
so yeah is expensive. Now in day,
now inmagine american self publishing
dont exist, is online baby, always.

I buy my manga and light novels. I don't read a lot, so I don't have that many.
I buy when they are on sale at Barnes and Noble online or Rightstuff. Usually less than 8 bucks.

Thanks for these views folks. I certainly do agree that printed manga is expensive if outside of japan, if I'm looking for manga I'll generally search around ebay unless it's a series (food wars) that's being released every 2 months which I'll get from a proper supplier.

It's interesting to see the difference in pricing around the world though. Here in the UK I generally pay around £4-6 for a volume.
