It's a beautiful holiday.
Even though my family lives in the states it is still one of our most important holidays.
I'm the one responsible for constructing the altar that is set up for the festivities

I bet that takes a lot of work to do well?
I'm not religious at all but shrines and altars always really interest me as they say so much about the person that made them!

It takes a few hours to set up the altar because it involves prayer and different rituals.
I sprinkle the area with holy water, light incense, and ask the dead to accept our offerings.

New Year's Eve because that is when I reflect on the year and enjoy the last moments. Being part of the last day of the year just feels special to me somehow
