The longer the better?
Posted 6/3/16
I mean length in visual novels and games etc, come on guys
How long is too long for Anime?
How long is too long for a TV show?
How long is too long for a movie?
How long is too long for a song?
How long is too long for a anything?
How long is too long for a game?
How long is too long for a VN? Not all VN are 18 MODS COMMON SENSE HERE PEOPLE.
Can you provide an example of something being too long or too short? And why?

The longer the better, until it becomes repetitive.

Those anime like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, and Fairy Tail are too long for me to want to watch them unless I was to watch from the beginning when it started. I've never seen a show that I thought was too long. Like five hours is probably too long for a movie. Really long movies can still be really good. Just look at Ben-hur or The Ten Commandments. I'd say over 6 minutes is too long for a song. I'm lookin' at you In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. That song is 17 minutes long! I've never played a game that I thought was too long either.

Longer the better in my view especially if it relates. Otherwise I just skip and go to the next.

Length depends on how much time it takes for a story to be told. The Hobbit movies stretched out into a trilogy when the original story was more suited to one or two movie adaptations.

If you go by the lenghts.. it will end at some point.
If you know the game and can play like that for ever.

I prefer longer story lines and episodes. It allows the writers to expand on background stories, and better character development.

Where's the fire? Why is there such a rush? The same people who complain about anime seasons being too long, are usually the first ones complaining they want more seasons when it's over. And, they also complain about source material being skipped, or the show seeming to be rushed. Just let the creators/writers take their time and tell the story.

Well some is making one "brought into the world" like episodes where you get how it is around there ("fillers" mostly) if done well it can be quite good or a nice thing in general.

But you can see in some animes being too short or too long anyway, either how it tries to tell the story or "avoids" it or got as far away it from what it was.
Nothing needs to be endless but there are some things that makes it unfinished even if you got 100+ episodes and still not "finished"..
As finishing it with a "proper" ending, finishes all that was needed to do or something else.
