yeah but I just think its a bit much random luck in it.
But again some is not.
From what weapon to use and when.
To where to go, place yourself, attack or defend.
Reaction time and so on.
But I just find it better use in StarCraft then CS.

You are determined to argue aren't you? I got not time for this. You know when I can beat an enemy team by myself multiple times over and I told is just luck and the right weapons. Make me hate those people. It not that easy.

NERDS! Na I like Esports as well, I've been in a few tournaments for Dota 2 and LoL (Games I hate with a passion), might see if an overwatch Esports scene develops. Other than that, I'm sticking to normal sports for now.

It seems insulting to athletes to call video games a sport.

esport*
as not just sport or in that way as its still an activity and a "race" to be the best and know what one do (that is a skill)
Know what to do and when, learn, improve and so on.

Chess is recognized as a sport so why not other mental activities?

Motorsports? Those dudes do crazy moves on their bikes when they go into the air. That requires athletic skill.

Chess? Not a sport.

Boxing etc? Of course.

Paintball? Of course.

And how it became recognised as a sport is questionable....

so you would call dart (or involving throwing stuff at a target similar to bow and arrow) not a sport too?
Its an activity that is similar in how much you have to then thinking about how you are going to place/throw the next shot.
Or did that hit a nerve?
to some other activites that is more or less the same as chess in how much you really need to do.
Bowling could be the "same" as football in how to know the field and feel home at it something similar for baseball.
Knowing every corner, turn, bump and how to get around how fast etc.

death parade, the dimension between life and death.
Where they in some way are able to get 2 people in on the same thing and do their "dance" of life or death.
oh well.. good it wasn't something about some "irl" psycho (more or less..)

Hunting/Shooting is also a sport.

Careful aim, fast reflexes, accounting for environmental change, sounds similar to me.

First, I do not understand exactly why it would be considered insulting.

First, I feel like you do not understand the amount of sacrifice, coaching, practice, determination, skill, and talent that goes into becoming a successful professional esport player.

Also, this is based off the assumption that physically demanding tasks are more valued than mentally demanding tasks.

Additionally, it is called esport as a way to categorize the type of competitive play in a single word, and very few would argue that it is a sport in the same way that athletics are a sport.

Still....why it is somehow superior to be a professional football player over a professional competitive game player is beyond me. Especially with athletes such as this:

As much as I find those MLG montages obnoxious due to their terrible choice in music, I think it is gaining legitimacy. VR is a bit rudimentary, and I don't see it being a part of esports anytime soon.

if you had some bullet hell or pistol/fast draw competition.
or something that is strategy.

But too little of VR games have showed that.
Well they have given a quite nice "demo" games.
from space pirate to many others.
