So I'll wager this will get little traffic...

Bonobono, a young sea otter, bonds with Chipmunk, Fishing Cat and other friendly woodland creatures. In between the gags, this unique series deals with philosophically nuanced questions such as, "What is life?

This was apparently the final mystery box for Spring 2016. Since it didn't appear until 75% into the Spring 2016 already. I guess there were issues with licensing or negotiations or whatever, but now all current episodes are live... It looks like a re-boot or whatever from an original in 1986 (whoa).

For 5 minute episode, it can't hurt to check it out. It's totally random. I figure the appeal will be pretty narrow, but I love to off the beaten tracks, so my curiosity was piqued. And I'll say this, it is definitely quite off the beaten track. It's kid-friendly, which is an odd thing I find myself looking at these days. Altho someone might disagree with me when looking at Raccoon's sadistic behavior.

The adult in me looks at a scene like this, taken out of context, and can't help but giggle like Beavis or Butthead...

Thanks for starting this. I haven't watched the episodes yet, but was planning on giving it a try. Now that I know they are short, I'll plan to do it today and get caught up. I quite like some of the kid's anime I've seen, so I might like this.

I wonder if getting it late in the season has implications for it being a multi-season show that will continue into future seasons.

ETA -- Watched it. Weird and cute. That raccoon sure is a rough one.

This is planned to be 52 episodes according to Fuji Creative (the licensor) site.

Just popping by to say I'm still watching this and enjoying it. Still not sure who the intended audience is.

Today's lesson is to find not just a rock that you like, but one that likes you.

Also, raccoon is still a surprisingly well tolerated bully.

This show is not all about the bullying, but ...

Poor Chipmunk.

This is a weird little show and I mostly like it, but what's kind of weird is how a thing that keeps bringing me back to it is the catchy theme song.

Still here, still watching this show. Can't explain why I like it but I think Chipmonk must have some rather profound dreams. Endless prairies that lead to the edge of night.
