Well it really depends on why you're feeling upset. Talking to some friends who will listen to you might help you feel a lot better. If you want to talk to me I'd listen to you too. Other than that you could try watching a heart warming anime or maybe try playing some video games if you're in the mood for it.

Hmm...things that make me happy?

The smell of bookstores and libraries. Getting a new book. Finding a new song I like. Making a pretty girl smile/laugh. Making people laugh in general. Eating food I like. Finding new food I like....

Lots of things make me happy. You make me happy too, for using dismal in a sentence. I like that word.

I like to combine education and motivational music to stimulate myself and leave feeling better off in the end.

I watch videos of cute animals when I'm upset! But it really all depends on what you find enjoyable.

Though on another note, I usually ride my bike and listen to up beat jams. If I fail in any capacity to cheer myself up, I let myself go down, nap then wake up and fight it fresh. Both work, but I always try since I find myself in this type of situation every so often but yea. Also going out with friends, having a good time and letting lose helps a ton as well. I usually savage some of my friends on a light level just to raise the mood and it works well.

Watch something that makes you smile. Talking to people who you got an emotional connection with works as well. ^^

The best way for me to cheer up is to do something creative like writing or painting

Sometimes, even when I don't 'feel' very creative and force myself to do these things, I feel a lot better afterwards.

It doesn't have to be anything big either. I paint fantasy miniatures as a hobby. Sometimes just detailing or getting base colors on relieves big stress.

So if you have a creative hobby, I encourage you to work on that when you're feeling blue.
