This isn't the type or person who merely stares at a car accident hoping to see blood, but goes to several sites that shall not be named on a daily basis, or read works by ero guro artists.

Why kind of person does this? Are they twisted in your opinions? Likely mentally ill? What do you think?

I've never really understood this medium. I find it hard to believe that people actually pleasures themselves to it.

Maybe it makes them feel alive. Like watching 'horror' or 'thriller' movies does for people, give them that feeling of 'I was in danger, but I escaped and everything is good and wonderful'. It's easy to say that they're mentally ill, but, honestly, most things that "excite" people are mental illnesses that are denied.

I'm not saying they should be treated or anything. If they're able to live their lives then good for them.

Oh, no. I'm just saying that it's easy to define them as being mentally ill, nothing about actually treating them. They'd have to want to get treatment anyway.

There have always been people who have been drawn to that sort of thing. It is difficult to.. see the draw, but I don't see the draw to fetishized cannibalism, and that's a thing that I associate with 'guro' quite closely.

I've read and... consumed some guro doujins. Sort of regretted it after. Not really my thing.

I knew a couple of folks in the last forum I would visit that was into that stuff. Each individual is different when it comes to looking at that type stuff. Some found it funny, others were thrill seekers venturing into things they've never seen before, others seemed to have a fetish for it and posted a bunch of gore/guro. There has to be some level of darkness, or insanity inside of someone to actually enjoy it.

It is not my cup of tea, but people do enjoy it.

Ah, I see. I was hoping for a general picture of the scene though. Most people who read guro appear to do it out of non sexual urges, the desire to stare at graphic gore. Not sure behind the scientific reasoning of it though.

I believe deep down inside, some people have violent thoughts and tendencies. People like to see blood, bone and guts splattered all over the place. For example when someone is standing on the edge of a building ready to jump. People in this day in age crowd around hoping that the individual will jump and will actually chant it.

Lots of sociopaths and psychopaths in society today.

You're fazed by everything. Fish hooks in vaginas. Vaginal rips to the anus. Etc. Does that not scar YOU, OF ALL PEOPLE?!

probably cuz beautiful things are often associated with death and it reminds you of how fleeting life is

when u sense danger, your mind can go on overdrive in several seemingly unrelated areas which makes you do strange things like feeling more compassion for the villain/yandere when he gets his ass torn than the goody two-shoes who seems boring in comparison

Even that website WorldStarHipHop... Full of violence, but everyone loves recording more of it. People get excited to see violence. No one seems to be upset about it. Everyone starts cheering and going crazy.
