Why should I care?

It's just another non-intrusive vice to kill the crippling boredom of life. lol

Of course not. I love d&d and wod games, dragonlance and forgotten realms and their novels. (But its been ages since I've played with friends. :c ).

Yep, we're weird.

That being said, I say people should at least give it a shot. It can really be a fantastic way to experience a new form of storytelling. Even if you can't get around with friends, doing things using Play by Post (sort of like gaming via forums) is still a blast.
Here is a great place to play a couple of games: http://gamersplane.com/ , it will take up as much time as it does to visit a forum and post. (Which everyone should have enough time for).
I actually hope to be building an anime-based game using Japanese Tabletop systems there, if anyone is interested sometime in the future.

Back in high school I played D&D with 4 other people, I loved it and miss playing. We were so nerdy we even dressed up to play; I still own the one outfit. It's one of the few things I actually enjoyed doing while in high school.

I played DandD once with a bunch of my friends and had so much fun, it's great stuff. Shame I dont' know anyone that's into that sort of thing anymore.
