I was in the hospital a couple of years ago due to blood clot that formed after a back surgery. It was fairly big and was quite painful. During one of their attempts to shrink it down they sprayed it with a "clot-busting agent". After a little while, I started having a really bad reaction. Couldn't breathe, all my muscles contracted, and it felt like all my blood was being pulled out of me in every direction. If the doctors and nurses hadn't stepped in, I really believe I would have died. But I'm still alive, so I suppose I've got that going for me.

Drug overdose.
Five car collisions.
Motorcycle accident.
Spinal fracture in snowboard accident.
Beat up by a gang of unknown number of people, twice.
Unknown number of fights, some involving bats and knives.
Unstable person with a loaded assault rifle pointed at my face.
Rape.
Four psychotic breakdowns, one of which could result in murder, another in suicide, and a third in murder-suicide.

Hahahaha, it sounds much worse on paper than it is

Cancer, when I got diagnosed they really weren't sure if i was going to survive the weekend and it was a Friday when I was diagnosed, think that fits the whole near death experience scenario

You've led quite the exciting life.

I've had several accidents where I've come out relatively unscathed when by all rights I should have been seriously hurt, if not dead. But I never seem to learn my lesson...

Lets see: Ran a stop sign on my bicycle in 2010. Car passed in front, brakes failed. Ran into side of car, went up over handlebars, landed on my feet still holding the bike upright. No injuries. Dent in car door, bike front tire FUBAR

2012, driving 4-door SUV, pulled out into oncoming traffic. T-boned by a Dodge Ram. Impact point was precisely between the front and rear doors. SUV frame completely wrecked. Minor whiplash. Delay of +/-0.5 seconds on behalf of either driver would have resulted in direct impact to driver side door, resulting in much more severe injuries.

2015, driving 4-door compact in excess of 100 mph down Interstate 80. Spotted Wyoming State Trooper parked at crest of hill. Attempted to slow down, lost control of car. Spun 180 degrees and ended up in opposite lane with a semi bearing down on me. Semi driver swerved and missed me by inches. Minor damage to tail light where I hit luminator post. No injuries. Pulled to side of road and turned self in to WHP. Careless driving citation, 100$ fine, 2 points on driving record.

2015, later that year. Driving 50cc Chinese motorcycle. Brake adjustment needed, but neglected. Car in front stopped short for pedestrian crossing. Attempted to brake but failed. Swerved and struck tail light of vehicle in front, dumped bike and went flying onto sidewalk. Was not wearing helmet. Landed on side. Impact absorbed by backpack. Minor bruises and lacerations on right leg and hand. Car tail light broken. Right-side mirror and part of brake lever broken off bike, otherwise no damage. Bystanders and first responders incredulous that I was able to get up and walk after that. Assured bystanders that I had taken worse hits before. Responding police officer attempted to cite for following to closely, but could not submit citation due to malfunctioning onboard computer on cruiser. Officer politely declined my offer of a free tech support consultation.

2016, just the other day: Driving same Chinese motorcycle down S. Greeley. Asshat in pickup truck following way too close. Attempted to make turn off onto side street at full speed to avoid being rear-ended by tailgating moron. Tires hit patch of loose gravel while banking. Bike slid onto side and I ate pavement. Minor lacerations to right leg and hand, no damage to bike, was able to stand up and pick up bike. Asshat in pickup truck did not stop, but at least three other bystanders did. Assured them I was ok and continued on my way.

And those are just the ones I can remember. I'm trying to mellow out my risk-taking behavior out of consideration for my poor guardian angel who's been buried in a mountain of paperwork for the past 6 years...

Only two things that could count.

1. fell from a veranda cracked my head open and landed in a rosebush (i was like 4-5 so that was DEADLY)

2. Partial complex seizure that lasted long enough to cause some form of brain damage.

3. 4 suicide attempts in the last year

Nope, despite my lifestyle when I was younger I never had a near death experience. I have run across death more than I'd like though and this always involved other people, usually friends which sucks. Me and death aren't really on speaking terms anymore.

That first part of the video: Ouch! Looks like the wind was pushing them right back into the cliff. Not good.

Snowboarder was pretty lucky too. And that bear was looking for some fast food lol. That last one's the freakiest. Being buried alive is not cool. Some pretty neat videos. I am definitely NOT an adrenaline junkie. I won't even ride the mini mine train at Six Flag's, never mind the bigger one. Adrenaline messes me up. I like to keep my feet planted firmly on the ground with a safety helmet on for precaution. You never know when a stray meteorite may hit you in the noggin. I sound like an old man.

Fell once while rock-climbing at a quarry with no equipment and I've been in a number of car accidents.

But I'd say the closest I've been to being killed was an encounter with a bull moose that tried to trample me in a parking lot. I managed to evade it and hide in my car till it left (they're remarkably stupid animals apparently). Read in the paper that local police had to drive it out of town later that morning because it was still wandering around downtown.

When I was in Middle School, I called my dad and told him to pick me up later because I was working on homework with some friends. So instead he picked up my little brother. While they were on their way home, a speeding woman ran a stop sign and t-boned them. Her car hit right where I normally sit and completely crushed the door and seat. If I decided to go home that day instead of staying after school, I probably would have had some serious injuries or worse.

Mine happened when I was seven, I was in the hospital due to having a rather nasty autoimmune disorder that caused massive hemorrhaging. On the third day of my stay my heart stopped; after ten minutes of trying to resuscitate me I was declared dead, three minutes after that I bolted straight up in the bed and let out a very loud, bloodcurdling scream. It scared one of the nurses in the room so bad, she fainted. According to my grandmother, who was in the room with me at the time, after I came back I had a look of absolute horror on my face and seem to be frozen with fear. I have no memory of the incident, but for several months afterwards I was afraid to sleep, and when I would sleep I'd have horrific nightmares; to this day I am terrified at the thought of dying.

One time, I was coming back home from work with my aunt but she was the one driving. Then at a stoplight when the lights changed to red, she stopped & stood in the middle of the railroads. We were so deep in the conversation we were having, that we were a bit surprised when we saw the crossing gates coming down suddenly. We then noticed we had cars in front of us & behind so we didn't know where to go. Then I decided to see where the train was coming from, and at that moment it felt like my soul was leaving my body when i saw the train coming from my side & at a really short distance. At that same moment my aunt pressed the pedal forward & turned the wheel to the right & then straight, passing besides the car in front of us, & then by millimeter of seconds that we moved, the train passed really fast .. behind us. The whole time we didn't say one word or did any kind of noise, but she said she really freaked out when she saw my face getting completely pale, & with that she figured the train was really close.

When I was 15, I escaped being dragged into an alley by two men. So I guess that might count.
