I started paying for a premium membership just over a year ago. I setup a recurring payment through my paypal account which directly debits my checking account. The payment has been going out like clockwork since last April.

On May 21st,.I try to watch something and I find out I no longer have a premium account. I check my paypal and as you can see the last payment went out out on April 30th and it was not yet time for the next payment. So I go into my account here and look up my premium membership history and notice this:

For the past few months they have been recognizing my payments later and later. My March 31st payment was not recognized until April 17th, and as of May 21st my April 30th payment was not registered at all. I assume this is a simple mistake and a quick e-mail should get my membership re-activated since they have my money.

Support kept asking for more and more information, which seemed normal at first. And then we got to an impasse when they said they could not help me unless I gave them my credit card number. I have never used a credit card to pay for my membership. I do not have one tied to my paypal account. There was no way I was giving a credit card number that had nothing to do with the transaction in any way shape or form. So they refused to reactivate my account and refused to issue a refund.

So I disputed the paypal charge. While I was already pretty furious I still simply asked for them to reactivate my account. Well for the past two weeks I have sent multiple notices to them through the paypal dispute and they have not responded at all. I just now escalated the dispute and am hoping Paypal will refund me me $6.95. It is safe to say that I find it hard to imagine I will ever pay for this service again.

Don't you need a credit card to be able to use it? Or did you just allow PayPal access to your Bank account and then made payment using your Paypal account tied to your bank account?

I created this paypal account before I even had a credit card. If I recall correctly they posted a .01 temporary charge to my bank account to verify it and that was it.

It sounds like he linked his PayPal account directly to his checking account. You don't need a credit card to do that. That's how my personal & business PayPal accounts are set up. Almost every payment I make via PayPal is directly withdrawn from my personal or business checking account.

I only recently linked a CC to it to pick up miles that I convert to cash and return to my checking account.
