I'm gonna try cosplaying soon.

So, I decided on trying to cosplay soon as Mao Isara from Ensemble Stars (originally, I was gonna go as Subaru, but then I ended up changing my mind ). This will be my first time, and as such I'm kinda nervous. I already acquired everything I need, but the main problem is, I end up fumbling my words a lot when I'm nervous, and I want to try to talk to people when I'm at the convention. Does anyone have any advice for calming my nerves, or for a first time cosplayer in general? Thanks for your time in reading this!~

You should totally do it!!!! I'm not a pro cosplayer by any means but I cosplay a lot and I have a YT and my instagram and everything to get myself out there. Its easier to do that than to talk to people at conventions because this way it is all online. Its a good way to build up a character of your own to play. Online i'm very out going and positive but irl i'm pretty quiet and I can come across as mean if i'm too shy. I'd say maybe do that for a little bit and when you feel you are ready go to a con. Even so there will be lost of other people there like you who are there for the same reason. i don't know if any of that was helpful but i hope it was!

and if anyone says something bad about another persons cosplay then they aren't good cosplayers so their opinion doesn't matter.

Be you! I don't think there is any better remedy for calming nerves than diving into whatever is making you nervous. They'll calm as you start talking to people, and not to mention most people at these conventions are super nice, and inviting.

Thank you both for the advice!~ I think I'm a bit more calmer now~ Hopefully this will help me become a little more outgoing~
