This is something I haven't actually thought of in a while, since it hardly updates. But for those unfamiliar, there's yet another manga extension of the Sword Art Online story.

This one, however, isn't an extra arc, it's a reboot of the original Aincrad arc, everything rewritten, save the general premise.

It's told from the perspective of Asuna and not Kirito, which is an interesting swap of perspective. Not to mention the art is not only way better, but top-tier at conveying motion and action. The deaths in this incarnation are a lot darker and more severe as well, the death of Diabel dealt way better in this incarnation. Even Kirito has a bit of a personality (shocking). But even new characters and concepts introduced seem really good, so far. But it may just be a bit bias on my part, seeing as I didn't like SAO to begin with, so it may just be me gleaming over something a little bit better.

Which is why I'm interested to hear the people who both liked and disliked the original SAO weigh in on the new Progressive storyline. And if you haven't read it yet, I really recommend you do for better or worse. So guys, what do you think of SAO: Progressive?

The thing i love about progressive is that its actually going floor by floor instead of skipping 20 or so at a time. On top of that we even got a small backstory on Asuna before SAO and her reasoning as to why she wanted to get out so desperately early on. Overall i think it's a great idea and probably the best reboot of a series i've seen in quite a while.

I love the progressive series especially since Asuna was my favourite character so it was great to hear her backstory and to follow her around a bit more than Kirito. (Not that I don't love Kirito I just have a nice connection to Asuna.) I feel really sad that a lot of people won't even give it a shot because everyone is all "SAO is dumb its so derivative" but in actuality its a great story I feel like the progressive fills in a got of the claimed "gaps" in the story

I am following the progressive story as well. I liked the original SAO, but more details are nice. I feel that some people will complain that its still the same (for better or worse), but I feel like while some (most) people know the ending, its the adventure of the story that makes it interesting.

NB: This is a light novel!

The Progressive series is really nice, I feel that this is what most people expected out of SAO when they initially watched it. However, there's only one volume per year and I think it's only at the 4th floor.
