the biggest difference between apple and android is the simplicity to use it

people tend to buy Iphones because they are much more easy to use, while samsung has way more functions but it's a little complicated to use them and it takes quite a time to know them all

I own an iPhone currently as I got it for cheap, however I really think it's a massive downgrade over the Samsung Galaxy I had before, so Android for me.

Firstly, you're comparing a company (Apple) to an operating system (Android). You may mean iOS rather than Apple but anyway ~
Apple are just overrated making stupidly overpriced devices. But preferring iOS over Android isn't even close to as bad as preferring Mac OS over Windows...that's just straight up blasphemy.

My job (mostly) involves Apple products, but around my house I have Apple, Android, and Windows phones, tablets, and other devices. My current phone is a Windows phone since it was lacking from my collection of possible development devices, but I don't have any love for it above or below others. Then again, I just program the apps, I don't tend to use them very often.

the nice thing about iPhone is that you don't have to worry about carriers installing crapware / spyware on your phone, which you cannot remove without voiding the warranty.

you can't remove DT Ignite unless you root the device.

Android itself is fine. the downside is the bloatware that the carriers insist on adding to your phone.
edit: and the fact that you'll probably wait a long time before you can update the OS to fix bugs
and the fact that there are more malware targeting android and can bypass the security check from Google

I prefer iPhone because it works seamlessly with my iMac,
and I prefer Mac because Windows is an abomination and I don't particularly care to deal with Linux
