Nope. I prefer to keep my own hard earned money to myself.

Last summer because of... there was quite the increase in illegal activity with such handlers or beggers..
before it was better with knowing who needed it etc.
But after that in many areas you can see the "business" behind it.. makes one sick.
wish one could just take those of them who "isn't a part of it" somewhere else and do something insted of staying in such activites and earn good money from good work and live good enough.

(Most)Beggars are the worst. I would give to the homeless though. There is this guy that stands by my highway exit with a dog almost everyday, bag of food with plenty of water. There is no way this man is homeless, super lazy, and a liar. We need to stop giving to beggars, it just encourages more people to beg and reap the benefits of gov programs as they have "no income". When I see people give to beggars I think they are gullible and ignorant. It somehow gives them peace of mind and a heart-warming feeling while it turns my stomach.

I try to give when I can, but I'm kind of reluctant when it comes to money because there is a chance that all I'll be doing is allowing them to feed their addictions (drugs, alcohol).

Whenever I go to the store and the Cash Register ask me if I wanted to donate some money for the starving people, help children get education, and helping Cancer patients.. I said Yes. :]

I remember giving the guy by the door 20.00 dollar to help Children get Christmas present, he gave me this surprised look.

I'm not Wealthy, problem is i'm too damn nice! XD

Not all beggars and homeless are like this. I have met a boy living in the streets who begs when he's desperately hungry but when he is allowed to, he would work as someone who cleans or helps around a convenient store. He saves up the money he earned in hopes that he might be able to go to school.

I donate my money to charities that help the homeless. I never give directly to any panhandlers.

My sister got into a scary situation with one not long ago. She had gone to the grocery store, and was in the parking lot where she opened her car door and turned to grab her purse - when she turned back to try to get out of her car this homeless woman was standing inside the door so it couldn't be closed and so my sister couldn't get out. The woman started shaking a used colostomy bag in my sister's face and screaming at her that she needed money for colostomy bags. My sister was afraid this woman would start throwing the stuff all over her and she couldn't get away from her, so she gave her a $10 bill which was all she had in her wallet and the woman screamed more that it wasn't enough and started verbally abusing her but she backed away and let my sister close her car door - she left and went to a different grocery store she was so frightened from the way the woman had acted.

I've had friends in other states who offered money to panhandlers that had knives drawn on them because "it's not enough." and were robbed of whatever cash they had.

Montgomery County Maryland is running a public service campaign about the aggressive panhandling that's going on in our area: http://montgomerycountymd.gov/panhandling/

Arlington Virginia is too: https://www.arlnow.com/2015/09/18/police-dont-give-to-roadside-panhandlers/

That's not begging that's robbery. The most aggressive I've seen was when a guy steps in front of way just when you are going to the ATM machine or just after you left it. After getting a no from the man he approached he turned to me who turned him down down too. I saw that happen again after the first time I witnessed it.
