It's more to do with the individuals than some broad age gap rule. I don't really do romantic relationships, but I guess what I think of as affectionate sexual/sensual relationships are close enough and I've had those with folks as much as 16 years younger than me and 25 years older than me, and I haven't felt at all uncomfortable about the age differences.

Woaj, that's incredible! 25 years! I hope you were legal at the time and they weren't trying to take advantage of you.

When it's illegal is when the age gap is too big. Consenting adults should know what they're doing, so age doesn't matter as long as they are adults.

So minor matters should be left untouched, no matter how seasoned you are. Interesting.

I agree with this one ^^. I think age gaps don't matter but I mean if they're as old as your parents.... then it's just really wrong.

Why does this tread remind me of Annie Nicole lol

There's no "correct" answer, because there are quite a few factors to add in, including the ages of the two people involved, yadda yadda.

I was completely an adult and had been in several adult relationships by that time. The only advantage taken was the usual advantages that get taken, mutually, between folks in such relationships.

What do mean?

It looks as if PV is only interesting in someone who shares the same birthday and probably born the exact same hour as him.

Really? I was thinking he was more of hinting at him possibly being a closet pedophile?

However I know some people 10 years apart. and are dating personally the biggest gap for me has been someone 5 years younger than me..

What if they're as old as your mom? You have to agree that's like you know...

Oedipus, bro.

Is the question too large for it to happen, or too large for it to be morally correct, because some people come up with their morals and change them faster than they change clothes.

When I was still a teenager this sort of thing mattered to me, at some point though age becomes a bit of a meaningless number.

I've known 16 year olds as mature as thirty year olds and forty and even fifty year olds act like young spoiled teenage brats. i.e its really about finding a connection with someone on your own maturity level.

Society as a whole has some weird norms anyway, a rich 60 year old man with a 40 year old is considered a-ok, whereas a 15yr old and a 17year old is a no no. Though the day the 15 year old turns 16 go right ahead (as if a day makes any difference). I've had experience of dating an older girl over that 'legal' threshold and this way round no one gives two hoots (including police) reverse the gender and its creepy and wrong. My point is ignore society they usually don't have a clue go with whatever's right for each couple.

For everyone invoking the if its legal argument, in most countries its ok to date someone under age just not have carnal relations, knock boots etc with them.

Who knows with that one?

My grandparents and parents had 10 year gaps. My grandfather was 10 years younger than grandmother. My mother was 10 years younger than father and 21 years younger than step-father.

My ex was about 8 years younger than me. Since I tend to look younger than my actual age I always get approached by a lot of younger guys. I have dated one a lot older than me once. I'd draw the line at dating someone the same age or older than my parents. I also don't date legally adult teens, I want more adult than that.

Long as no laws are being broken then I have no trouble with anyone dating anyone.

I know someone actually who is 18 and she likes to date people in their 50s-60s due to her kinks. Sure at first I was confused about it but then I kinda accepted it. Cause in the end, it is someone elses life and we as observers have very little actual say in the matter. Let them live their life the way they want to so long as no laws are being broken. (Cause then that makes you party to the crime or whatever in the eyes of the law)

This reminds me of that news thing from the 90s where a school teacher seduced her 13 year old student, ended up going to jail because of it after some shenanigans, got out of jail and married the student who was at that point of legal age.
