I mean, no. Because nudist beach(es) <-- Also Kill la Kill XD.

I don't see the difference between nudist communities/beaches and a nudist restaurant.

And unlike the US and wherever, nudity isn't such a big deal in Asia. The public bathhouses for example. People get naked with strangers and are comfortable about it in certain situations.

But still, doesn't this violate public decency laws?

And I don't get it at all. Why would you want to eat and see naked people? I mean, do you watch porn and eat? Sex/adult entertainment really isn't something you do while eating -- the two don't go hand in hand.

Theyre obv. not doing it for the nudist movement if they're banning overweight people. It's obviously all for the eye candy -_-.... still, nah there's no point in getting horny while eating. That just takes away from the dining experience.

Tokyo has like what, 35 million residents? I'm sure people will have to book a table months in advance and they'll open more places like that.
Quite frankly I'm shocked that such a place supposetly didn't exist already and opens just now

People said " WTF Japan", but read the OP, they already opened ones in London, and Melbourne, so first should be " WTF England and Australia".

What I will say is, I often debate whether to wear a white top to restaurants where I know I'll be eating sauce.
This would absolutely solve my problem.

Okay...but why? Did you really need a dedicated resturant to say "Hey fatass go eat a fucking salad and get on a treadmill you fat piece of shit"?

Technically it's not a restaurant, it's a venue. Venues are places to be seen, so some people really do have that need if only to not be associated with them.

Ehhh but they're getting accustomed to western lifestyle and habits! The fatties are growing in number. It's actually illegal to be obese there! http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/japan/091109/fat-japan-youre-breaking-the-law

How dare I challenge the western ideal! It's not like we're an entirely different culture with our own societal expectations that have little to no effect on the Japanese population! //sarcasm

I think how Japan goes about body health is a dozen times better than how it is in the USA. They actually get educated on how to better their bodies ON TOP of making their meals. I went to school in the inner-city; we never had anything in regards to Home-Economics. Yet a good portion of my peers were fat or obese; and I was a victim of generalized harassment over my weight.

In fact, I was repeatedly told that I was anorexic. It was quite irritating.

Well, you are wrong. They eat just like any other American. How does that go again when you assume?? You can't tell me you honestly believe what you say about that.

the notion of eating without your clothes on, sitting on a chair where people were also undressed, seems highly unhygienic and irks me tbh.

That'd be a shitty seat.

Heh not surprising at all. I expected it sooner after the success of the restaurant chain were they served sushi and other food on top of naked models.
At least, if it’s any comfort, they will be providing “paper underwear’s.” So for us who are too squeamish, it’s a plus for them.
Either way, not something I would consider wasting my money on.
