No sticking morality to the metaphysical is a bad idea. Suppose we haven't heard of the real God, like the Natives didn't hear about yours until the few hundred years ago. And this God doesn't strongly interfere, like how how the death camp runners didn't get the pillar of salt treatment. The real God says that everyone should have lots of children and eat most of them. Just like Yahweh's values of freewill, and over coming struggle doesn't reduce to wanting us to feel good, this value of sacrificing children, doesn't reduce to anything a human is likely to agree with, with God saying so.

Any ontologically fundamental morality has this problem. On the other hand morality isn't a question about a person the way beauty or sexy are. It's more like probability. The probability isn't in the cards, but you can still do it wrong. Obviously there will be minds that are totally indifferent to morality, that "progress" to baby eating, and are hopeless evil, despite not necessary being wrong about any facts. Just like Humans are "hopeless" not baby eating.

Now it could be the case that there is no way for us or anyone else to sort out morality completely unabitrarily. But even in that case paperclip maximizing still isn't even close.

If everything was subjective, then the value of my beliefs can cancel out the value of your beliefs, thus there is no true value. Sin exists within the realm of morality, which means if it doesn't truly exist, then there is no such thing as good or evil actions.

I honestly believe that the solution lies in this question, "does objective morality exist?" and also how can we be objective in answering this question.

What's that Doflamingo monologue from the Marineford Arc of One Piece about perception and tides of good and evil that's really good.

"If there is evil in this world, it lurks in the hearts of men."

Good and evil aren't the cartoonish versions of the good versus the bad guys but they definitely exist in the form of empathy and its lack. Lack of empathy in action has definite real consequences.
