VRV premium = limited programs from all services they list with no access to any of the sites
CR premium = All CR services and no access to VRV nor any other channel

So basically, if you want to watch all of the CR shows and/or manga and/or dramas you currently enjoy, don't use VRV.

Here's my review of this app:
It's not bad. It's great for having an app on the phone where you can watch funi and crunchyroll. But, it's missing A LOT.

Rogue Hero
Air Gear (?)
Baka to test,
Balder force exe
big windup
bikini warriors
black blood brothers
black lagoon
blessing of the campnella
c3
chain chronicle
cheer boys
chrome shelled regios
claymore
code geass
concrete revolutio
danganronpa 3 x 2
Dimension W
all dragon ball series besides super
Durarara
Erased- dubbed
Evangelion
first love monster
fruits basket
guilty crown
Hellsing Ultimate
Heroic Age
High School fleet
Inari Kon Kon
Initial D
Jinsei Life consulting
Junjo Romantica 3= Could be Due to Hulu having it.
Laughing Under the Clouds- Could be Due to Hulu having it.
Love Live Sunshine
Luck And Logic
Lucky Star- licensing issues
Miname Ke
MSG IBO
Mushi-Shi- it's on netflix?
My Hero Academia-
Nichijou
Nobungun
Omamori Himari
One Piece- dubbed on hulu?
noir
OniAI
Psychic School Wars
Robotics;Notes
School Rumble- on hulu
Scrapped Princess
Seiyu's Life
The World's Greatest First Love
Servamp
sgt frog- isn't completed
Shakugan No Shana
Shin Chan
Shuffle
Snow White with Red Hair
Steins;Gate
Sword of the Stranger
Tenchi muyo! War on Geminar
Asterik War
Betrayal Knows My Name
Saiki Kun
Future Diary
The Melancholy of Haurhi Suzimiya
Dantalian
The Tatami Galaxy!
The Vision of EscaFlowne
The Wallflower
Tokyo Ghoul
Tokyo Ravens (dubbed)
Toriko (might just be dubbed)
Trigun (because it's on hulu)
Most of reservoir chronicle of tsubasa
Wolf's Rain
Yona of the Dawn
B Gata H Kei
Yatterman Night

Those are just funi titles. A lot of crunchy isn't missing, but some important titles are.
There's a lot of classics missing and revamped nostalgia shows, like a lot of older shows with lesser quality are missing.
Galaxy Express 999
Fist of the North Star
Sailor Moon Crystal.

I think the app might be worth it for a little while. Just a bit of time. But if you really want to see those titles listed above, chances are they're not adding them due to licensing issues (netflix has some titles, hulu, anime network). You might be better off just spending the extra money for both subscriptions or just pick and chose when you wanna jump on to funi for a bit of time.

I currently have a year of Premium, pre-paid, on both Crunchyroll and Funimation. From what I can tell, if I sign up for the VRV Combo Pack, I'll start getting charged $9.99 a month, once the 7-day Trial is done, regardless of cancellations and account statuses. They say we won't get double-charged, but that seems to only apply for those who pay monthly and cancel their CR/Funi services. (plus, there's no account linking to Funimation, so the VRV service has no idea of my account status)

So, since I have almost a year before my current subs end, I'll test the waters on this VRV thing for a bit, just to see where they intend to go with it. Right now, it's not seeming to be anything I'd give up my current subs for, so hoping they improve the service.

I am curious about this because I subscribe yearly to both Funimation ( Reenrolling in June/July) and Crunchyroll ( Rerolling in December) I am really interested in this service because I currently pay 120 with both services and I would love to get more for my money. If I cancelled Crunchyroll now and then enrolled into VRV would I get any money back from my yearly subscription to crunchy roll?

from my understanding, by subbing to VRV you do cancel your monthly sub to CR directly, but since you link accounts, you still keep your premium membership to the CR website. this just gives you all the other stuff for a few bucks more a month. I WOULD like to have a link between VRV and Funi. Basically i just want a dual Sub system to CR and Funi. Anyone know if they are planning on allowing you to link your Funi account at some point so you have premium access on the actual Funi site? I would also like to be able to Link my VRV account on the CR site and Funi site, so i feel better knowing i have paid for Premium access.

Are you going to implement search functions and also genre sections?
What happens to my subscriptions if I switch to the VRV one?
Is there plans to bring in more companies for more titles?

I want to ask since I just have a Crunchyroll subscription and I only got it so I could watch on TV using my roku. So say I get VRV would I be able to use Crunchyroll still on my Roku or will it not be possible due to the fact I have to use the VRV app that is only available for Xbox one?

We have a Roku app for VRV as of this week. If you link up your VRV and Crunchyroll account in the settings on VRV, you Crunchyroll Premium will also work for on VRV.

wow I got a vrv giftcard today thinking I could be premium here but obviously not. So i'm premium there but not here like wtf. Definitely not buying these giftcards ever again

edit: now im premium on this site. Hopefully it stays that way

edit: seems my premium is from the 7 day trial that vrv gives. Let's see if I stay premium after the trial

(and i mean premium on this site, not vrv)

edit again: it says it was a gift from crunchybot and will be expiring in a week. wtfffffff

When you got premium on VRV did you also take advantage of the 7-day free trial? If so, I wonder if that's why the CR Premium is showing a week. (It might be normal for the CR premium benefits you get from VRV show up as crunchybot gift). Maybe once VRV actually starts taking monthly payment from your gift card, the CR premium would then show another "gift" from crunchybot, but for the month.

Just a thought.

ETA: Looks like when I was writing this, you were thinking the same thing and wrote it too.
