Western television is garbage. They are just jealous of Japan.

Not all of it is garbage. There are a few gems coming from our own nation. Japan has some good shows and bad shows just like the west does

I say who gives a shit, everything is sexualized now. It's the human condition. I'm not a sexually minded individual per-se, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I think it's often silly as hell in Anime but people need to start gravitating away from the notion that anime is "for kids". That misconception will open doors to even worse "crimes" to talk about anime committing.

The answer should be no but the media, politicians, and people are pushing this extremist view point that anything that isn't all accepting is some kind of -ism and should be stopped.

I'm all for equality between males and females, in that we should all be treated fairly and with respect and dignity, and people should acknowledge both are capable of great traits; intelligence, diligence, compassion, wisdom, etc. ...females should be given the same opportunities and chances, women should get equal pay, etc...

But when trying to form equality between men and women, I think a lot of times people overlook or just so easily forget that men and women...men and women are equally valuable, but men and women are NOT exactly the same. We have our differences. Physically. Not just sex organs. Biochemistry and things like muscle mass...and we have our differences, including the fact that the male psyche and the female psyche are different.

Here is an article on that last bit:

Why isn't it obvious to some people that men and women aren't the same and confuse that with equal rights? How at all are these two concepts the same? Man has penis, woman has vagina. Man can do girly things, woman can do manly things. What am I not getting from this lecture that isn't common sense, and why are they so confused so much? Who the fuck is poisoning the water supply for these idiots?

He should have told everyone to shut their traps if they don't like his observations on why the chips fall the way they fall. He said nothing wrong and has nothing to apologize for. It's like saying sorry for noticing that rain is wet.

making observations about what people are actually good at what jobs has been sexist for years according to SJWs. they want a world where people are shoehorned into jobs they don't actually want, don't like and aren't good at. isn't that already happening? why aren't they talking about the blatant sex appeal in a lot of the characters? sexy males are always gay and every anime has that one girl that every otaku would turn into the town bike,

if I wrote a book, it would probably be full of fantasy that would please mean, if I tried really hard to. apparently books like 50 shades are full of realistic descriptions events and bodies that I wouldn't be able to write for a woman to open the book never mind her legs.
isn't there studies supporting men's tendency to abstract and women's tendency to realism?

Ya'll should ignore shit like this because it is nothing more than clickbait or a publicity stunt because people can be either gender and still like what is geared towards the other gender makes no damn sense really.

That poor Japanese man had an opinion. Now, he's lucky he still has his job. Over here, where free speech is allegedly enshrined in our Constitution, he might well be jobless by now.

For anyone interested, ANN's thread on this is filled with people happy about him being attacked and browbeaten into apologizing. Sad really but not surprising.

Every individual is different. When you look at people as groups, you sort them based on what they have in common. If you meet enough people from Group X that all share a common trait, you will associate that trait with Group X and that's perfectly rational and normal for human beings.

Unfortunately, the PC mentality rejects this natural process as harmful and presents their views as the only proper ones. Dissent means you are a hatemonger.

Instead of piling on the man for having an opinion that didn't conform to the PC Gender ideology, why not question the underlying view's validity? Are women inherently more realistic than men? Why not have a debate on that subject or simply discuss highly imaginative women who have had an impact? Discussion breeds thought and creativity and it might lead new people to find cool women's creations.

Labeling this man a "sexist" does nothing but turn one man's opinion into a strawman to be pummeled.

I don't see how CR is labeling him sexist to be honest...
I read the original article CR has and didn't notice any bias. Of course, it isn't Breitbart, so what do I know?

Just so we actually know wtf we're talking about here. This is the comment when asked about having a female director for a film:

“It depends on what kind of a film it would be. Unlike live action, with animation we have to simplify the real world. Women tend to be more realistic and manage day-to-day lives very well. Men on the other hand tend to be more idealistic – and fantasy films need that idealistic approach. I don’t think it’s a coincidence men are picked.”

So no, he didn't say men and women have differing creative processes, needs, exceptions, etc of fiction. He straight up said women are too "realistic" to make animation while men are idealistic.

Which is made all the more ironic since the stereotype is more the other way around in western culture.

Wait, so he is basically stating females are actually the logical ones while men are the overly emotional ones living in their own little fantasy worlds.

Thankfully the SJW's just proved that to be completely inaccurate and that women are the overly emotional ones while men are the logical ones.
